55, not sure what’s going on in front and behind Liberty’s mouth area, almost looks like very light graffiti in a crosshatch pattern or it might be a reflection on the slab, 58 if it’s nothing on the coin. it’s a nice enough looking coin though
58 camp also, based on the light hairlines on the obverse and what appears to be rub on the reverse.
Overall very respectable for an early branch mint Barber half.
Hmm, I like it at 62... probably way too liberal though

I see a light rub over the whole coin which takes it below AU-58. I'll say AU-55.

53 or 55. Eagle has obvious wear on upper right (facing) wing, and especially on same side tail, leg, claws, and arrow feathers.
That is not wear, that is a weak strike. If it was wear from circulation, it would be more even throughout the entire coin, and would not affect just that one area so heavily. Barber halves, especially the New Orleans issues almost always have some weakness in that area.

I really like the look of that coin! Looks like a bit of rub, I guess 58?
Photos are not clear or large enough to make a grade call.
That's a really good looking Barber!

I agree, yet I am going to play anyway:

Looks like a nice original undipped coin. Has some light rub. Typical "O" mint weak strike on the right of the eagle. AU-55

Edited to add: Looking more closely, I’m changing my guess to AU55.

I agree with AU-55. I think some slight rub on feathers near top. Lovely to look at. I don't think it has a cleaning designation.
Looks 55 to me.

55 seems about right, just a smidge too much wear for 58.
That is not wear, that is a weak strike. If it was wear from circulation, it would be more even throughout the entire coin, and would not affect just that one area so heavily. Barber halves, especially the New Orleans issues almost always have some weakness in that area.
So, I found the real grade on this coin accidentally, and I'll let the OP post it. I'll just say, hmmmmm....very interesting in this case.
I can't tell from the pics - depends on if there are breaks in the luster when rotated in hand. If so - 58; if not, looks about 63 or potentially 64.
I go with an AU58 and it does not appear to be any graffiti around or beside the mouth. Do the stars portend an old cleaning perhaps?
