100 were hand signed by Ryder. Look at the end of the below article

My current registry sets:
20th Century Type Set
Virtual DANSCO 7070
Slabbed IHC set - Missing the Anacs Slabbed coins
The first 100 were hand signed by Ryder and they command huge premiums.
Not sure if we have seen #22 pop up before.

Your both crazy.
This is about the low serial number more than anything.
Stamped signature vs. hand signed. Huge difference.

My daughter has this '21 set signed, thought it was great but $21 & change for one ASE RP?

Paying that kind of money for Silver that will most likely Milk Spot in a few years turning them into bullion is not for me..
You can get one for ~900 or less if you try hard enough - not signed and maybe not graded but 21k is too expensive imo
I wonder if Ryder gets any money for signing. That might violate conditions of his employment about earning money as a result of his job. i think, but am not sure, that most high level government employees have such restrictions.
Unbelievable somebody paid that.
I don't think it has sold. Asking and getting are two very different things.
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

I'm pretty sure that signing things as part of the job doesn't fall under this restriction, if it exists. Does he make money? Sure - his salary.

Very nice! Is she a collector?
At first I thought it was for the COA only, no coin!
No matter how overpriced you might think the item is, that doesn’t make the seller a “scammer”.

A seller is free to ask any price... And buyers can choose to pay, negotiate or walk. That is the market. All that being said, I personally would not pay such a price, which, is more for the signature and low cert number than the coin. Collect what you like.... Cheers, RickO
You are NOT crazy (unless you buy it for $21K+).
