    A question for you guys:
Who determined the short set would be 1941-47?

Actually It seems like the 1940, and 1940-s should be part of the short set.....You know?

It's a great looking set, and very complete-able. Blast white, with lots of luster is a great way to go with these.

Not much booms with as much luster as a 1940’s Walker. I fell in love with them as a kid at my first coin show. They were cheap then too!

Very nice and really like the mix of beautifully toned coins.

Nice set. I like the 40-coin Late Date set - lots of beauties in the 1930s, plus you get the 40 and 40-S

It's complete, for the time being......but I think this set will see more than a few upgrades in the next year. The grades range from 65-67, so I'll likely tighten that gap as well as replace a couple where the strike is not all it could be. work in progress.

One short set of Mercury dimes is defined as 1941-45, using the WWII dates to define it. Goes well with the 42-45 war nickel set. While the Whitman WLH book 2 starts at 1937, the Lincoln cent book 2 starts at 1941. Perhaps Capital Plastics also had a hand in defining a short set of WLHs.

Nice set! I love them in that Capitol holder! It just looks "right" Sometimes I wish I had the guts to break them all out of the slabs, and just put them in the above holder....would that be crazy?

Not my set, just a picture of one I found online. I would buy a bunch of raw sliders for a holder like that, then you could keep the really nice ones in slabs and have a second set for less than the cost of getting the nice ones graded again come time to sell.

I had my cat pull a CAM 1961 half in a flip off my desk while I was out and he started chewing on the flip!! Luckily the coin was unharmed and it was only a 65CAM so not a huge deal if it was damaged. Made me think twice about where I put my coins

I currently have WLH short set (coins PCGS 64-66) for my display case at coin shows. Yet to sell complete set but individual pieces do sell and then replace them. Very popular coins to build short set. Easy and fun. Most of these issues especially in 64 are in area most coin show attendees can afford and strong sellers for me.

Yes, I like Walkers because it's just a great looking coin in 64, and even better in 66, 67. Can't think of a better series to get started collecting than these. And of course, you can go all the way to the moon with them if your wallet allows.
