I wouldn't want it for free, throw it away before we see it again posted by the next newbie who gets it lol

Why would you spend $5 on a severely damaged coin?

Why would you spend $5 on a severely damaged coin?
Because he thought it was a discovery coin for a previously unknown DDO.

Why are you selling this as a unique doubled die? The feedback you received says it clearly isn't. Deceiving potential buyers is something that is considered serious by many members here and I would recommend you cancel the listing.

Yes posting was deleted after knowledge was obtained. Was sold to me as a ddo. Sorry to everyone who got upset

Just a bit of advice for you. We (and you) learn things on these boards by leaving the information up for others to read long after we are done with the issue at-hand. If we all deleted everything once we got the information we wanted then the site would not nearly be as valuable to everyone else. In the future, leave your posts up so others can learn.

I think it's more about his getting caught trying to sell the problem.
If knowledge was gained 2 days ago, why did he wait til today to remove the listing? I think we all know the answer to that. The listing was removed promptly after it was noticed and posted in this thread.
It's a rather unfortunate turn of events. He should turn his ebay profile private also. His feedback is revealing.
It might be best to just close the account and get a fresh start.
Hopefully they are learning from their mistakes and won't make the same ones again.
It doesn't seem that way based on his feedback and this latest episode.

Yeah, I'M the problem.
I'm not the one who discovered your listing. I'm not the only one who expressed concern about what you were doing.
It would have been much better if you had simply owned up to your "mistake" and moved on.
I deleted the listing. Admitted my wrong. And learned from other users. No one bought the coin or even had the chance to. No one got ripped off but me. I didn’t check the forum or eBay for days. Lesson learned

We appreciate your ending the listing. I appreciate your taking ownership. But you responded at 1:53 pm on 5/31 about the strike doubling and the listing wasn't ended until after the listing was broadcast here. The connection between those events may not be as direct as it seems, but you can understand why we are connecting the two.

How do you like this response I got from him. Typical eBay/forum troll. POS lol
Somehow I’m the dipshit, even though he’s the ……. who got caught and exposed for what he is. And besides, it takes a real man to hurl insults at a woman. But then again, there’s no proving you’re a real man in the first place. So you can keep throwing insults at me. Ok little boy? LOL

Perhaps, but there's no real upside to arguing with him and continuing to post his DM to you.

Strike doubling. No added value.
Not a doubled die.
Damaged.
Cutting a coin in half won't give you two valuable coins.
Nasty coin and a waste of time.
The title says 1943 S but the coin shown is a 1943 D.
NOT a doubled die.
I don't think that's the biggest problem

But in Scrabble, double the value of an S and you have the value of a D, so there's the doubling...

So you turn around and list it on eBay as a DDO after you’ve been informed that it’s only strike doubling. Class act👌

Here is one that sold looks very similar
Strike doubling is very common. What is nearly impossible is a DDO with a DDR and a D/D.
Selling on ebay in no way makes it legit. Shame about the damage as it makes the value, regardless of strike, very little.
