You might check the pop reports.

Errors are not something you will find in pop reports.
They are scarce, but not rare. Definitely harder to come by them the quarter struck on dime stock, however.
PS--Nice coin.
I know that!.....not. I was thinking of varieties.

Cool error! When I first saw the title I thought this was going to be another parking lot find post but once I saw the op name I knew it was legit.
I'd call them rare. BUT wrong-stock errors don't get no respect. They're not "showy". Few people collect them, so there is little demand.

I used to CRH half dollar rolls...Never encountered one of these... Interesting. Cheers, RickO
Two examples have sold through Heritage, and at least one through eBay. @arby96 posted one that he found coin roll hunting earlier this year:

1971-D quarters struck on 10c thickness stock are also known and also rare (I know of only two examples).
