One thin dime - kinda

I posted this one before in the 2x2 cardboard. Yesterday I borrowed a friend's scale so decided to take it out from its resting place for the last 30 years and weigh it.

separated clad layer?
pretty neat.
I would tend to agree.

Detached outer clad layer
That was my first thought when I saw it. Neat error. Question for the error experts: Is this worth getting slabbed?

Before I could scroll below the first photo thought it was going to be one of those love token dimes.

To me it would be.
Yes, get it graded.

Kennedys are my quest...
Could I ask, where/how you acquired it?

@OAKSTAR I got it from a coin dealer about 32 years ago along with a few other cool error coins.

Neat looking error "coin"

That is pretty cool!
So, with two clad layers and a copper center, is that a 3.33c piece?

Awesome piece. I would get it slabbed if it were mine.
Imagine having a mated pair of the detached piece and the original coin it came from.

I wouldn't spend $75 to get graded, maybe $25
no way of determining year ... if you had the other part(s) then yes
I kinda wish I had the other half of the error, just saying
How cool would it be to have both halves in a PCGS two-coin slab?

Even better🙂
Good idea to get it slabbed... Protection for sure, authenticity for potential sale at some point. Cheers, RickO
Well now. What do we have here😎
Not only are you awesome at helping with our collection but it would seem you have some very cool things tucked away.
Maybe anacs is a good choice for slabbing.
We really like it and once again you pull a rabbit out of a hat 😉🙀🦫
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
@Jzyskowski1 Theres more rabbits still in the hat. Some haven't been out of the hat for a long long time.

Very cool thread. Thanks @gumby1234.

Very cool error. I would slab it for the same reasons @ricko stated.
@Zoins this thread for the clad layer only.

Awesome coin @gumby1234!
Good to know!
I have to ask, is there a "detached inner clad layer" too?
