    On what?

    How about some pictures?

There are some current metal artists that do that kind of work on coins. That piece is undoubtedly such a coin as the carving is of very high quality. I would call that a fine art nickel.

A high-end Hobo nickel. Unsigned as far as I can see, which is very unfortunate.

    3 Legs!

    When in doubt, don't.

That's quality... there's a signature or initials somewhere almost certainly.
Hidden somewhat or check the edges...the commercial artist me has a feeling

Oh, you mean initials on the OP's coin. Sorry, never mind.

It is quite likely the coin was a typical 1937-D and the artist-carver removed the lower portion of the leg to make it even more cool.

Did you check out the other hobo nickels at that link in my post?! It's where I grabbed that image.
    They're nuts lol!
Something tells me if you're enjoying this one you'll like a few of those

Is this your coin? If so, where did you get it.

I swiped the image from the link I posted above... https://imgur.com/gallery/WVdGl/
Here are a few of the images blatantly borrowed from this link. There are a bunch the collection.
Initials look like maybe F G to me...

I thought the OP's coin looked a bit odd. I'll bet it's one of the Chinese copies. They frequently copy Hobo carvings on nickels or dollars, either cast or perhaps struck.

The OP's reverse looked good but the obverse looks worn and slightly mushy.

That sure is some nice nickels. I'm glad the artist spent quality time on them

Those modern 'hobo art' nickels are very well done. Would love to get that Lion nickel in change... :D No chance of that.... Cheers, RickO

There was a guy set up at FUN (I think 2019 maybe 2020) who was doing engravings at his table. While I had not notice him before he could have been there many times. You could give him a coin and design and he would engrave it. Don't recall his set up. He had some stuff in a case also.
