Washington quarter for my type set

Common 20th century pieces for the type set pose a bit of a quandary for me, at least for my goal of having a complete set in registry format, and corresponding nice images, ideally Trueviews. I've often heard on the bourse floor "If you want a PCGS graded coin you should buy a PCGS graded coin", and for these guys, I think there is a good bit of sense - if you bought raw or sought a cross, a significant amount of your expenditure would be tied up in grading fees.
When seeking PCGS coins for the Washington Quarter, I was also a bit dumbfounded the toning premium many of the graded coins had, especially for some of the dates in the 50s. Whether in the aggregate or on % basis, I was left feeling you'd be forever buried in some of those asking prices. Thus I was happy to add this guy, without what I felt was all that hefty of a premium. First year, a nice sunset tone framing a brilliant center part of the obverse. Reverse a bit darker but with some very distinct colors coming through.

The premiums charged for tarnish are in line with the demand and people are paying them. I would not pay for tarnish, too easy to make myself if desired. Glad you got a coin you are happy with, without the ripoff price. Cheers, RickO
Nice looking quarter. What did PCGS say the grade was?
Pcgs gave it a 62

I love it! I'd also imagine that should you ever decide to move on from it that there would be myriad folks (myself included) who would happily grab it up from you. That is always a nice position to be in for numismatics.

That's an attractive 62, and if you got it at a good price, I have to agree with @TomB ... should you ever decide to move on from it, the demand should be high from a large group.

Good choice.
@ad4400.... Nice key date quarter! Congratulations!😎
I like that coin!
I have always liked and collected that year. I have accumulated 50, 1932 Washington Quarters. Most of them are raw.
It's a nice coin for sure but is it a key date?

A good blend of color.
A beautiful toned Quarter, I love it.

Nice looking 62. The 1932 date is a good choice for the type set as it always seems to grab attention because it is the first year of a very long running series ... and is already 90 years old.
Great choice. Beautiful coin. Congrats.
