Email exchange for your viewing pleasure. First email came an hour after an item went up...
Buyer: Hi. I'm interested to buy it now , how much please?
Buyer 4 minutes later: ??
Me, with my canned reply: "Hi, It is my policy to not end auctions early, but I do welcome your bids. Good luck!
Buyer: I would like to buy it now
Pour me another shot...

Kennedys are my quest...
My favorite is ...
Buyer... I see you listed the xyz coin for $3000. I would pay you $2000 today.
Me.. Thanks but I'll pass.
Buyer... what's the lowest you can sell it for?
Me... The $3000 price that I offered.
Me too.
Three days ago I bought a DC Gold St. Gauden. I thought about it long and hard before pulling the trigger.
Received my first silver St.G today. It's amazing.
Here is to your post.
Still drinking.

Kennedys are my quest...
here are some recent ones.
Them: Your listing says its and S mint coin but there is a W on it.
Me: It's the designers initials
Them: Then why is it a W as in West Point Mint
Them: good morning, I would like to buy your coins, I am in Italy, do you ship to my country? thank you
Giuseppe
Me: Hi, If you can do a Buy It Now, then yes.
Them: Hi, Listing states OGP and capsule. Is the capsule genuine OGP also?
Me: Hi, I’m not sure what you mean about genuine. The capsules were returned to be by PCGS when I had the coins graded. They were the same capsules that the coins came in from the us mint.
Them: On the obverse side of the coin is the raised part (the lady) have a satin type finish and the backround a mirror proof finish?
Me: Yes, it is known as a proof finish.
And I am still drinking reading the posts.
Lol

Kennedys are my quest...
I love the ones that are 8 paragraphs about how sick they are, in the hospital, bills pilling up and can't afford the coin. Just tell me you want to cancel and save us all some time... I got 2 of those last week. one was for a pet in the ER, one was for a person.
I am not a seller but so do enjoy the reasons…
Another round bartender!

Kennedys are my quest...
I had a guy tell me he fell asleep and his cat must've hit the bid button. Silver lining? This was back when you could leave a house pet neg feedback.
So that’s what’s going on around here. The dang cats are laying down the bids when grandpa nods out. 🐈😸
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
I had to tell the IRS that my dog ate my tax refund check. I could almost hear their eyes roll, but it was the truth. I had just sat down and put the check on the coffee table when our beagle sprinted into the room, grabbed the check. and chewed it up, all in no more than three seconds. It was if it was wrapped in bacon.
and @WAYNEAS is still drinking
or maybe, he passed out and his cat is bidding!
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

When he was little my dog ate my work at home work
I do enjoy these ebay buyer/seller stories. Years ago, mid nineties - early 2000's, I used to frequent ebay... back then, it seemed much different and not a lot of scams. Even had a forum where good information was exchanged. Now, I rarely go there. Keep the stories coming.. Cheers, RickO
It's more fun if you mess around with these guys.
Q. I would like to buy it now.
A. I would too, they sell very quickly. Can you sell me one?
Q. I would like to buy it now.
A. I only do buy it nows with crypto.
Q. I would like to buy it now.
A. Would love to, but can't figure out how to use Buy It Now on ebay.
Please try these and report back
After 5 years of occasional selling on ebay, last month I received my first dispute.
"Reason: The buyer did not recognize the transaction."
3 months earlier, for this transaction the buyer provided Feedback: "A beautiful silver 2oz round just as described. Fast shipping. Item arrived before promised."
Apparently buyers are drinking too.
Successful BST transactions with forum members thebigeng, SPalladino, Zoidmeister, coin22lover, coinsarefun, jwitten, CommemKing.
I really enjoy these stories. I will say though, for those who have worked in retail (especially for those with years of experience), will have many such wild encounters, disputes, requests in their story book. I have seen, and experienced, encounters which make one wonder "Who ties his shoes in the morning?" ... Cheers, RickO
Upset Ebayer:
you keep that OVER priced coin!!! there must be a lot of fools out there. go buy you an appraisal book. anybody who knows a little about this coin can tell you this. you want sell that coin anytime soon, you GREEDY ******.
Me:
I paid over $400.00 for this coin over 8 years ago! I think if you think I'm greedy you won't be buying many nice Barber Halves. Go fill your collection with all the dip out crap that you can buy for the outdated Price Guides.
Best Regards,
The coins is priced at $524.99 with free shipping.
Every couple of months, I'll get a lowball offer (20% of my asking price) on a coin with the helpful comment that it's never going to sell at the price it's listed at and before I can respond, somebody else buys it at the listed price.
Morgan for sale on BIN for $498.
Buyer - Will you accept $470 for the coin?
Me - Yes, I accept your offer.
Purchase is completed for the coin.
----later the same day-----
Buyer - Sorry, I made a mistake and purchased the wrong coin. Can I get a refund?
Me - Yes.
i like it when i see people take the easy way out to avoid drama.
averaged out over 10 years, i probably get 1-2 a year or less. i refund and move on and usually forget pretty quickly. i've had enough being raked over sandpaper and i'm maybe half way through my life (unless i pick up underwater spelunking).
Not an eBay transaction, but at a show one time I had a guy say “Would you take $xxx for it?” and when I said yes he said he would think about it.
Buyer: Will you ship to New York?
Me: Sure, no problem.
Buyer never bid on the coin.
