has anyone noticed that sold items are remaining on the active listings page? i've had this on multiple accounts so i don't THINK it is a setting i messed up. kinda annoying but i dont know 100% if the listing(s) are still visible to the market or not but i've been manually removing sold items (single item listings) from the active listings page for quite a while now.
I have noticed a brief delay in listings moving from active to sold, but they always move on their own without my doing anything. But that might not be what you're talking about.
ya. that sounds about like what i'm talking about. i will start paying more attention because it appears to be a problem i have to deal with.
even if the listings aren't viewable to the market after they sell, it really messes with my brain inventory-wise to see them still there, even after they have sold, for long periods of time, seemingly, until i manually remove them.
when i click on the listing it says item is sold at the top of the page. maybe just a glitch.

fwiw, IF you wanted to use that service, if you can generate it on a PC/MAC and then just take a pic with your phone, it SHOULD be able to be scanned at the PO. may not hurt to enlarge the image of the QR code to make it easier to scan later on.

it SEEMS to just be on one of my accounts for now. i did click See other items on my listings to see if it can be seen by the pubic but i didn't find it on the list so that is reassuring i won't have double sales of the same item(s). i'm leaving one sit to see if it will be there tomorrow.

Yes. If at any time the balance was zero or less than you were spending, it charges the bank. When it happened to me, it also changed the default payment so I had to change it back.

Yes, I use it a lot. I really don't think the insurance for it is going to last long. I've had quite a few claims made for non-delivery. More in the last 6 months than I've had in the last 6 years! I just hope ebay is keeping track of those that make claims. Probably 25% or more never show being delivered. I suspect the majority of them are dishonest folks, though I hope I'm wrong. So far every claim has been paid so I will continue to use it.
How about others using ebay standard delivery? How many claims and non-deliveries are you experiencing?
Mine are very securely packaged...Heavy manilla envelope with thin cardboard inside. Costs extra because it adds an ounce so I don't think it's packages being damaged.
The non delivery thing is a big problem. You have to have tracking on every single thing you send now. There are people making a business on items shipped without it to get free stuff.
And it does suck. You can't sell any uninsured low dollar stuff now because you are giving that item away when they report non delivery and you have no proof.

In the hopes that some sellers don't ship with tracking and they can claim non-receipt? On a purchase here and there, sure- but making a business of it? Seems unlikely.

For years I sent low cost items uninsured 1stv clad with no tracking. Very few claims of nonreceipt. And if one in 500 falsely claim non- receipt, you just pay it and move on.
ok. in case you go to print a label for a few combined items that is well under the 3oz weight and meets the criteria for SE shipping, don't forget to check the weight section. i was JUST about to give up and concede i have to ship either more expensively or with no tracking and saw just at the last second that ebay filled in 4oz when the actual weight for 4 coins was under 2oz and that was with the cardboard flips for all 4 coins! also well under the i think $50 cut-off for multiple sales combined.
is anybody experiencing problems listing foreign coins and not getting standard envelope as an option when trying to print shipping label? i sold an african cameroon coin and it says items listed in that category aren't eligible. i presume the system thinks i'm shipping to africa? but the buyer's address is in the USA which i figured the system would give priority to.
i made sure it is 1oz, the listing was for S.E. shipping and the item is well under $20. i opened/closed the print shipping label page as well.
i use business policies to control shipping, returns and payments. it is easier to change everything to match this way.
here is the info, if you see something i'm missing, please assist. t.i.a.

it is kinda blowing my mind a bit as i cannot find a single reason S.E. isn't showing as an option. i do know that if a buyer hasn't paid, the option doesn't show and if a label has already been printed under that service or even another (i accidentally did this 1-2 times and S.E. shipping option disappeared) that S.E. shipping is not longer an option.
LAST RESORT. i'll trying printing in a different browser even though i've printed many successfully as the status-quo.

that was good thinking. i did change the dimensions but to no avail. i changed to 5x7x6
i think it MAY just be a glitch or there ARE some coin excluded categories. i'll have to research this some more.
edited to add: i think the default is 1x1x1 when used many times previously.
edited to further add:
if that country category were to be a problem for standard envelope, it should have triggered prior to listing the item but with this account (the one that DOESN"T remove sold items from active listings ironically) i can go into a sold item and click revise (or sell similar) to see what settings were in place and standard envelope WAS listed as an option for africa - africa other for coins.
i don't really care IF there are restrictions but knowing what they are and to work with/around them is where the frustration lies.
i cannot find ANY specific country restrictions, just a blanket policy, which if it works properly, is fine. did i find a loophole? TBH, i have found that in my life, i do find/fall into loopholes somewhat regularly. idk why or how but i do recognize the pattern. fwiw
I sell wold coins and haven't encountered that issue yet. As long as you're shipping to a US address, I don't know why it would matter what country category the item was listed in.

i've exhausted virtually everything i can see/think of, so i'll probably just wait until tomorrow or tuesday (since monday PO is probably closed). i don't worry too much about the dings for higher seller levels since i don't sell enough on that account although i usually print/package and ship within 24 hours 99% of the time.
i'll go with the glitch explanation which is as good as any at this point.
ok. one of the images above shows that XX shipping service is selected by buyer.
the next time someone goes to pay for a purchased item, can you report back if there is an option to change the shipping method, possibly overriding a seller's preference.

I ran into the same problem last week trying to select the standard envelope for a couple of U.S. coins. I talked with an eBay support person over the phone and he said that there was a glitch involving the eBay standard envelope that they are currently working to fix. He estimated that it would take about 5 hours, but that was on Thursday.
For my orders, I was told to go ahead and purchase USPS First Class package labels and that I would be reimbursed for the difference.

i just had another sale come in with the same problem. i'm less concerned about the problem having shipped a few hundred? coins over the years with just a stamp with few problems than i am just wondering if i had made a mistake.
the new sales was in the large cents category.
if it isn't fixed by tueday, i'm just shipping em out with a stamp for better or worse. $5 isn't worth the effort to me to work with ebay, even if there is a prob with the transactions. all-in-all, it is under $15. MAYBE i'll see if i can get chat. i usually like that option in lieu of phoning and waiting on various sites.

wouldn't surprise me. the notification did state that "some" ebay members are reporting issues. over the years i've noticed ebay has like 3-4 different urls/pages, for the same page! this expands a bit between stores/non-stores etc. probably only further exacerbating the issues. issues do happen by region as well.
ok. thinking it over a bit of how i used to do it. i'd ship some items in an envelope with non-machinable postage. not sure what the price is now. .65c?
SO, since the requirements clearly state not to go over 1/4 of a inch thick (i'm sure some slip through) to be on the safe side, i may go ahead and forego SE shipping and do no tracking with a non-machinable stamp.
from a risk standpoint, it is kinda a 33%/33/33 whether the machine will snag it because it will be too thick with cardboard around it on both sides vs the buyer stating they didn't get it or it actually not showing up.
has anyone here used the "flat" option. no tracking i think. it is just a 8x6 or similar size envelope, usually a small legal type or similar to ship something like currency, cards (maybe a small coin if they don't catch it) as a nice discounted service. for sure no insurance coverage on some/most items.
how about an in-between option like a first class stamp with one of the 2 green services. one is return receipt (green form) or i think certified mail? there are a few forms at the post offices as an in-between using a regular stamp but not going up to the cost of first class parcel (non envelope) starting at $3.xx. - i guess it depends on the cost of those services and if they are close to the cost of the first class parcel bump, probably best to just go that route?
