Cracks and Die Breaks and Color ... grade posted

Last Saturday morning I was flipping through my regular sites, just to see if anything was new. I stumbled across a Die Marriage I have had on my "yes, please" radar for some time, and when I pulled up the images on the TrueView, and after comparing them to the seller's description (always good) and his images (which are, ahhh ... "difficult" I guess you could say), I picked up the phone and called.
After agreeing to purchase her and letting the seller get back to his shopping (he was at the liquor store!), and before I even sent the check, I shared the coin with some friends, who then gave me some very interesting backstory. Apparently at one time some years ago, this coin was picked off from eBay by one of those friends, and was imaged by another of them. My understanding is that someone else here might recognize her too, as they were the consigner, but I don't know who that is.
Anyway, small world!
And the today, while I was out pulling weeds to keep the front from getting out of control, the mail showed up. What a nice break from the cold drizzle!
Because it's always fun to see what you all think, I removed the cert' # if you want to GTG. All comments welcome. I have the LanceViews from some years ago, and I will share those later.

Lovely as can be!
Once had a cool f/vf of this marriage, it's back on my yes please list as well 😄
Came back in for another break from chores ... these are the LanceViews from May of 2018, cropped and somewhat reduced size. Honestly, these are probably more accurate overall to my eyes, nothing against Phil or his images.
It's an interesting study, for sure ... maybe an interesting comparison for some you look for the differences ... although no matter which images you view, or getting to hold her in hand, I think she's quite an attractive girl.
I have some new lights incoming (I had to get them from out of state), and so I'll give imaging her a try sometime soon.

What a great Gem AU example! It looks like a 53 to me.

Nice snag...you beat me to her as I had an errand to run before I could call about it. When I got back to the house she was already marked "HOLD".
Actually,

@yosclimber
okay, yeah ... maybe I need to get off that kick!
@OKbustchaser
well, I'm glad I didn't wait then! Seriously though, I hate when that happens to me, so I understand how that feels. Thanks!

A lot of his coins seem to find a new home within a couple of hours after listing. Just another case of "You snooze, you lose."
53+, great looking coin. What web site did you find this on?
Beautiful 1811 O.109, Todd!
Love the diagnostic reverse die crack on her.
Yes, I’m quite familiar with this coin as it was once mine. She is really stunning in hand from what I recall. And Lance’s images are right on, as usual.
Congrats on picking up this cool die marriage!
Dave
Lance's pics make me think closer to 50 than 55 technically, but priced closer to 58 I bet, just for shear snazzyness..
The color! 😍

Beautiful bustie. I'm thinking 55. Congrats on the purchase.

I'll try to answer the questions posed and let the grade out of the bag.
It is in a PCGS AU53 holder, and in hand, I feel that is an entirely accurate grade. Congrat's to those who nailed it. Most of you were very close.
It was on Gerry Fortin's site, and I think it was there on consignment. My understanding is it belonged to someone here, but I don't know who that is, nor would I say if I did (but I really don't know). HOWEVER, I would like to know, and know how to keep my mouth shut if that person wants to PM me.
As stated here, it was Dave's @drddm coin at one time. He found it on eBay as part of a Large 8 / Small 8 pairing in Jan 2018, and had both regraded. They each went up in grade (this one was a 50), Lance took images, and Dave ended up parting with them (as a pair I think) some time later.
Lance's @lkeigwin pictures, as Dave and I both stated, seem to tell the whole story better. The TrueViews are definitely worthwhile, although a bit more on the glamourous side.
This is the O-109 and is the latest die state registered (109.3), which fits well with some of the early date / late state DM's I have been able to find. I am super happy to have her here.
Yes, Gerry really was at the liquor store when I called him, and no, I didn't feel I had to pay an arm and a leg for her ... although everyone will be able to do that research now if they want.

Thanks for sharing this coin and some of its history.
The pictures are fantastic.
Modern coins cannot compare to the beauty of this coin's design.

Kennedys are my quest...
Sure do wish they would make coins with such artistic quality today. Seems cost, efficiency and commercialization have taken over. Cheers, RickO
