As far as the rim burr idea alone, the area is long and deep.
There is no similar amount of metal missing from the rim
Plus there is metal piled up at the rim, as if it was peeled back after striking.
I see what you're saying, like a really sharp cut some time ago...
But there is no copper showing inside the valley there...

Looks legit to me.
I was actually thinking struck through something that peeled up. Copper showing on the debris lump, so perhaps a rim burr from somewhere.
where is the thread with one nearly identical to this one?
looks like a legitimate retained fragment strikethrough from a ... ahh ... sure, could be a rim burr

Very interesting!

Perhaps, you do have something there?
Not quite sure what though?
Just a plain Strike Through?

Yes, struck through rim burr. Part of it was then bent back and is still partially retained.
For those that don’t think so, what other reason would there be a sliver of metal, with copper flecks present, near an impression that is the shape of a rim burr?
similar one. fwiw LINK
Guess so
Well, I do see copper in the 'missing' portion of the rim.... However, the piece that appears as extra material does not seem to come from the missing rim.... Too large and different shape. Cheers, RickO
