Who is the earliest active member on the PCGS forums that still checks in?

I've only been here since 2001, so it isn't me. Who has been here the longest? Pipe in if you're still watching, even if you don't post so much anymore and just like to read the latest.

@bennybravo - you must be among the longest; due to a platform change in early 2001, I believe there are no members listed as before Feb 2001?

Hey Higashiyama, I didn't know that. I still see a buncha folks that preceded me who still post every so often. I was just curious as to who has the longest tenure. There are great and very intelligent posters here and I've always enjoyed reading their opinions. Some of the newer folks here are sharp as a tack too! Love all you guys.

Sounds right, prior attendance went poof long ago.

Glad to see you're still here TomB!!! I remember you from very early on. Glad you're still around. :)

I still use the avatar that I used when the original avatar options were given to us. On the boards prior to the February, 2001 update we were not allowed to have avatars and we just had usernames show up. Once the boards were updated they gave us about two dozen avatars to choose from. If I recall correctly, I was the only one to choose the green demon and now they don't have that group of avatars offered anymore.

I think TomB is probably one of the OG's of these forums. Much respect to him. One of the earliest posters, and a great contributor over the years. Special mention to Braddick too as I know he's still around and a great guy who's been here forever. I'm sure many folks here have had very positive dealings with him over the years. I know I have. Would love to hear from more folks that have been here for awhile. I know there are many great people here with so much passion for this hobby!

I was on the forum prior to the change in software back in 2001 and remember TomB, Braddick, Wondercoin, Ricko, Airplanenut and a few others from that time period.

IMS when I signed up you could still find posts back to about 1997. I've forgotten most of them but remember seeing the guys here so far. I think Dog97 might have been one of the earliest. Surprisingly, relatively few of these earliest ones were still posting even when I finally showed up in April, '02.

IIRC, it was 1999 when I joined. The platform change had some glitches and booted a few of us off.

Thanks for this thread. I learned some interesting statistics about my own posting history.

From mid 2002 when I first joined as "northcoin" I found out I had close to 5,000 posts which were accompanied by 1,500 likes and 106 lols. Since 2019 as "1northcoin" I have half that number of posts but 6,000 likes and 285 lols.

It was nice to learn that I have become more likable in my older age. :)

I'm not so sure...LOL, I don't remember that far back. I never really participated here after I joined in the beginning. I earned a lot of feedback over there on the ebay forums. We had quite the group and several good gatherings at the FUN show and others!

Rick Montgomery, too, when he was President of PCGS would often drop in on the boards and discuss coins with us. Obviously, this is prior to his move to NGC in the very early 2000's.
