GTG and Overton Bust Half Newp

I saw this, knew the Overton and decided I couldn’t go wrong. It was prettier in hand than in pictures which is also a plus.
Which variety do you think this is? One thing gives it away pretty quickly. Even with the bad pictures you can figure it out.
Pretty coins can come in NGC holders too! 😍

VF35 is my guess. Not a CBH collector so not sure on the Overton.
N40...I'm allergic to attributing overtons past 1819 🤧

Alright, alright... a real quick guess then.

I'm in the 30-35 camp. Attractive coin Paul!
Looks like a 113a to these eyes

Seeing that filled A now.
R5 🤔
Alright cats outta the bag… it’s listed as a R2 but only 16 have been graded by PCGS and they rarely come around.

I like the rev as a 40.
Great CBH.

I’m going to stretch it to NGC XF 40 because it’s so wholesome and shows some luster.
It’s a VF35 and O-113a. Like I mentioned, it’s listed as a rarity two but is most likely a lot more scarce. Only a few new examples have come up over the past several years and very few are slabbed. It’s a wonder this hasn’t gotten updated to a R4 or 5.

Thats a gorgeous coin!
Love a perfect VF35 bust half!
Well... Late to the game... Would have no idea on the Overton, but did guess the VF35.... Nice coin. Cheers, RickO
Ricko this is two threads where you liked a coin with toning. Do you need to talk to someone?

A coin that I would like to own.
I do have a O-114.

@Pnies20....
I can appreciate the quality of a coin while still not liking the tarnish. That is just one part of the overall product. Cheers, RickO
Haha fair enough!

The BHNC calls it an R3, an "upgrade" over its earlier R2 designation. Which means several hundred are believed to exist. To put that in perspective an R5 is just several dozen.

Yes I was overly excited reading maibockaddicts assessment which was probably several years old.

Interesting that there’s only a couple uncirculated examples.

I take pretty over rarity most everytime........
Probably cause I can afford Pretty, but not so much rarity.
Another 1829 O-113a showed up in my mailbox.

Cornering the market for these, eh?
😂 only 100 more to go.
It looks better in hand than the trueview, which is rare.

That's a fine specimen, congratulations on the pickup.
It's a good looking example Paul. WTG!

My first thought was about 40, but before I could take a good look, the cat was out of the bag. Edit to say nice coin.
Very nice tarnish on that one!
