How to find rare coins

There are many ways you can find rare coins.

The first thing you’ll want to do is check places in your home or any places you might store change.

Other things you can try include using a metal detector in known areas for buried treasure and stopping by your local bank branch to ask for a wrapper of pennies.

You can also try to get a good deal on one online through USA Coin Book or eBay.

But make sure you research the coin first and know what it’s worth before buying

This actually makes sense for coin collectors. If I wanted to look for a rare coins, the first place I would look is in my coin collection. 😀

According to the Internet, many error coins are found in parking lots. :p

Many of them are extremely valuable rarities. >:)

Cars! I once was fixing up a 1964 Chevy Impala and pulled the back seats out and found a 1962 Franklin! It was in MS condition.

These Sun articles are just total junk. Like you really are going to get a draped bust dime in change. The diameters are completely different to a modern-day dime!

I went to my bank last week asking for half dollars and received $9 worth of halves. Of the $9, 16 half dollars were either 40% or 90% silver, with one of them being a Franklin half.

The week before that, I asked for large dollar coins and received 2- 1971-S Ikes that were 40% silver.

    They are still out there.

Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

There is an old saying in the prospecting segment... "Gold is where you find it." That is because gold has been found in so many different types of terrain, and water. The same actually applies to rare coins... They could be anywhere, from old ruins, to attics, to pocket change and even bank rolls. Keep searching.... Cheers, RickO
