There is no prize here but...if you won a coupon or credit of $150 that could only be put toward a coin purchase and would be accepted on any website (but not being able to keep any unspent difference) what would you put it toward?

I suspect the premise is up to 150., which precludes what I would buy otherwise (a Capped Bust Half), so ... maybe a mm'd Standing Lib' in 58?

For $150?
If I can use it with my money also. I would buy a gold coin’s. Didn’t offer a choice really for me because I don’t care if it’s new or old. About a $250-300 gold coin.

It said a credit so yes. Spot me $150 and I will pay the rest. It would bring $5 Liberty's back to a price I would buy at.

@Maz03 I didn't vote since I would call modern 1965 to present. However, from your list it looks like you've extended modern back to 1934, which obviously would still include Peace dollars, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, Walking Liberty halves etc. If that is the case then I would buy a "Modern", a 1930's Walking Liberty in MS64 or a 1940's Walking Liberty in MS65. Leftover amount spent on hand picked "junk" silver.

I put gold or silver just because you can get close to $150 and always sell it or trad it for something you want later.
Hoard the keys.
My choice would be pre 1933, gold. Silver would be my next choice.

I assume that the coupon can be used for a purchase greater than $150.

That is how I read it. Sorry to the OP if I read that incorrectly.

Sorry. You guys are right.
No worries. I have never been accused of being a good reader. I could have misread it as well.

There have been several past threads discussing when the modern coin era began, and most posters agreed that the modern coin era began when the mint started to make circulating clad coins in 1965.

I got one of those Dansco type set albums too. Prefer the old Whitman bookshelf albums because they lay flat and I don't have to worry about stuff sliding off them onto the floor. Like all good things, Whitman had to screw it up though. Anywho... I could fill a few holes in my circulated Mercury dime album for $150.
I would go for some bullion... ASE or add money and get some gold. Cheers, RickO
