Somewhere between 14 and 19 years depending on when I choose. I will likely scale back closer to the 14 mark and work part time for a while. Other than mortgage which will be paid off within 10 years, I carry no debt so my retirement should have less stress than it could.
I retired from the Air Force ten years ago and went right back to work with Civil Service...then there's my part-time job of 20+ years peddling auto parts. I just don't see myself retiring any time soon.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

I officially retired just over 13 years ago... Then did consulting for a few years...Now work a few days a week as a firearms instructor and Range Officer....Very busy on days I do not work... how did I ever work full time? Probably will always be doing some sort of work... Keeps me off the streets and out of the bars. Life is great... Cheers, RickO
Out of the bars??????????

I’ll raise a glass of single malt to you next trip…..cheers!

Probably about 20yrs. Could be a few more if work things are fun at the time. Could be a few less if non-work things look like they’d be more fun at that time
My role models, father and grandfather, worked into their 80's - I have a ways to go!
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." I don't think I'll ever really "retire" per se... I'll likely stay at my current position for 10 or so more years then maybe ease into consulting and teaching part time....

Probably 20-25 yrs. Now I also usually only work 3 days a week. I would rather have free time while young and work a bit longer. I like my 10 weeks of vacation. Otherwise would not have time to fish

I went to World Headquarters last week to give them my one year notice and that I would be retiring early sometime in 2022. I ended up leaving with a 5 year deal that I couldn't refuse. They keep pulling me back in. 2026 here I come!
Retired from my full time job with a early retirement package July 1, 1992, 29 1/2 years ago. Then worked part time for H&R Block during the tax season when it was cold, dark and sometimes wet outside from January 1993 until April 2014. Now I'm so busy doing whatever I want that I can't imagine how I ever had time to work.

Im about 12 years away from retirement. Aside from my full-time job, I also picked up a part-time job that is full remote, working from home. I love both jobs and the flexibility of the part-time gig is a slam dunk!

I used to think I could work anywhere I wanted and did. But not any more. I retired this year and don't know where I could go to work at.
I've been on permanent vacation my whole life. I'll keep finding ways to make money though until they plant me face down (so everyone can kiss my..)
Retired from teaching art six years ago, but most artists never retire.

If you have kids and or grand kids you never get to retire. You just change from one set of duties to another.

Retired early with a 10 hour a week consulting gig I don’t need. Travel and Grandkids are the priority these days!
