Normally I think this exercise is silly without knowing the grade but in this case, I can’t imagine that coin getting a sticker as I’d be surprised if it even received a straight grade. Looks more like a D coin to me.
Obviously, the reveal will show it’s an AU55 Gold CAC. 🤣
The surfaces would lend me to say no. It doesn’t look like the kind of surface condition they like.
For CAC it isn’t just about what the grade on the holder is. It’s also about whether they would make an offer on it. I don’t think they would on this one. But I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time.
My opinion, while certainly not qualified as a CAC expert, would be no.... That being said, it would, to some extent, depend on the grade and whether it was on the upper echelon of that category. Cheers, RickO
Who knows the mystery of the one known as “ The CAC”. Coin looks like a details, cleaned but I have been off the mark lately. As said. “It’s probably VF with a bean “. More I learn about grading the more subjective comes into play. 😉
Am I the only one who thinks it looks harshly cleaned?

I believe that’s incorrect. CAC has stickered many thousands of coins for which they’d have zero interest in buying, because they don’t deal in those coins. Note, that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t make an offer for a
such coins, if asked to.
They award (or decline to award) stickers based on whether they feel the coins are solid for the grade or better, not whether they’d make offers on them.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice. . .
(Many of these threads show an obvious 'problem' coin and the big reveal is it either straight graded or
is CAC approved!)
I ain't falling for dat agin!
Based on the images provided and regardless of the assigned grade (if applicable), the coin doesn’t look CAC worthy. And for that matter, if it deserved a straight grade, it barely squeaked by.

The surfaces are lifeless and unoriginal. I would not expect a sticker at any grade. Of course, since you posted it, it’s probably in a straight graded holder with a sticker.
I haven't read through the thread, but I don't know what grade it is and don't care what PCGS or CAC might say about the coin...it would not have a place in my collection.
It's a PCGS VF35, and no, it's not stickered. It's also a WB-2 (R4), which is a more common variety for this date. I would not expect it to be stickered by CAC at all. I'm surprised it was straight-graded, even for a better date. I wanted to field others' opinions on this coin that I think is a "D" coin (for dog).
I would usually not purchase a coin looking like this (obviously dipped and/or cleaned) unless it's a significant cherry-pick.

I’m relieved. We can all sleep better knowing the system hadn’t completely failed us yet.

So when are you going to submit it? 😈😇
Ha! Not soon. I'd have to purchase it first and that's not gonna happen unless the seller drops the price by 70%. Anyway, I'm content with the raw early die state 1856-S WB-3 (R4) I have already.

Guess it depends on the grade on the holder. Looks like XF40 to me.

I don’t know if it would but it shouldn’t
Far from it, IMO
The coin is graded P35, which is, IMO, accurate for the wear. The coin's surfaces may be another story.
This gives me hope for my coins straight grading in the future.
From those pictures definitely not.

Based on those photos the coin would be a hard PASS regardless of the grade or stickers.
I think no.
I might guess it might qualify as B quality @VF30 but it isn’t something I would sticker at any level.

No.
No from what is shown.

No way that would bean imho.

I agree with your sentiment, but have seen too many stickered surprises to make a statement like that.
No
just please please for the love of god don't reveal it in a 66 holder sir...

Does it matter? Looks like a dog

Yes. If stickered you could flip it for a premium in a sight unseen transaction.
Based on the picture, it'd still kind of be a dog ... at least to me (and I'm probably not the only one - my apologies to the OP).
Why try to sticker it? Just because you can?? For an extra dollar from an only-CAC follower???
If I was JA ... again, not knowing grade and just by the picture ... I wouldn't. No way, no how. Reputation is more important.
Now, if that's in a VF20 holder, it get's more difficult, as it might be under graded.

Why punish yourself with that coin? At any price collection-wise.
Absolutely not.Looks like a test experiment gone bad.
Sorry.
