Just a few Patrick Mint sets I picked up , Pikes Peak and 1795 Proof Half Dollar 12/19/21 Update

These are pretty neat. I picked up a few others a week or so ago and think I posted those but here is the newest.
If anyone has some that they want to post I would love to see them!
Added a few more at the bottom of the thread

Cool! Had never seen either of these! Thanks for posting!

I really like the Pikes Peak!
Gorgeous pieces Stef!
Your photos make these really pop!
Anyone have recent info from Jesse Patrick? Is his mint back in operation?
Thank you everyone for your nice comments.
I thought to add this set I picked up a few weeks ago.

Here’s a quick google. Time for me to study 😉

Would like it if the US Mint would generate more of the old coin designs onto more of our modern coinage.
Maybe a new golden dollar issue honoring Baseball parks (30 of these) on the reverse with a Barber design on the obverse.
They could change the obverse design every 3 years or so.

Kennedys are my quest...
I've never encountered any of the Patrick Mint medals you show. I wonder if the numbers struck were actually as large as stated on the medals? It also wouldn't surprise me if many of the silver medals have been melted.
It is also possible that a number of unsold pieces are still retained by the Patrick Mint.
I think it was all destroyed in the Santa Rosa fire.

It's worth asking Jesse.
I do know a number of the private issues Dan Carr has done just seem to disappear, but these are different as they appear to be self-issued and perhaps act like store cards.
@coinsarefun .... Stef, you always find nice, unique pieces to add to your collection. Well done.. Cheers, RickO
I just picked up 3 additional sets and thought to share with all of you

I have noticed that the copper/zinc pieces need to be conserved or"saved" from further damage of the holder so I
will be removing them so as not to let the velvet eat anymore away.
Where most seem to have a mintage of 1000 copper/zinc and 500 Silver
The Connecticut is 500 Copper/zinc & 500 Silver

Steph,
Here are photos of my latest sets.
We've discussed the concern with the quality (or lack therof) of the copper washed zinc pieces of these. I don't know if you've seen the 1/2oz full copper pieces yet or not, but I will be starting a thread on those later this afternoon. The full copper pieces do not suffer the "zinc rot" seen on these copper / silver pairs and all of the designs we've seen thus far seem to be shared obverse dies.
I'll post a link to the thread highlighting the copper pieces in a bit. Here are my latest and final sets of the copper / silver pairs.

I have a 1792 set coming in the mail soon and the zincoln does not look as bad.
I’ll post pics once they come too.
.
Here’s a pic I took the day they went it for soaking in mineral oil. Must be a couple month by now.
I’ll have to check on them and see how they are coming along.

Can you explain why mineral oil, and what it does?
Professional Numismatist. "It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
.
It’s about the only liquid that usually does not harm the zincolns.
Most of the time the black will come off……slowly tho, over months or years.
Some people rush it and try a rose thorn to pick the black off.
But, sometimes what’s under is not nice looking.

Steph,
Here is the other Patrick Mint thread. Take a look at the designs. This is only about half of what I've picked up so far.

Little fun fact about mineral oil. Many years ago I was going to Mexico every winter for a couple different vacations , late fall and couple months later ,late early spring. I started buying opals and still have some. The supplier down there insisted that I store them in mineral oil. With a hardness of 7 and susceptible to drying out and cracking. Suggested putting any jewelry with opals in the oil ,hence the ring in the jar. Thanks
