The Patrick Mint - some amazing die varieties

@coinsarefun and I have been chasing a few Patrick Mint copper/zinc & silver medal sets with historically important obverse die designs of late. These medal pairs are quite fetching but the copper/zinc medals do suffer from the typical "zinc rot" seen with recent mintage Lincoln cents. Even though these medals have some very low production numbers, the

I recently ran across a seemingly "new" series of Patrick Mint pieces. These medals are fully copper, 1/2oz, and do not suffer the "zinc rot" commonly found in the earlier sets.

What's more is it appears the quantity of obverse die designs are an order of magnitude greater in number than I have seen in the earlier pairs. I have counted at least 50 designs in this series. All share this common reverse.

I won't bother trying to describe each of the obverse designs to follow. Most should be fairly recognizable by most. The engraving of all of these is extremely well executed.

I am very curious to know if anyone knows who the engraver might be? I am also curious as to when these were minted.

Has The Patrick Mint become a phoenix rising from the ashes and started producing again? I have run across two medals from this series with named reverses. If those two are any indication, these medals must have been produced around 2002 or so.

Anyway, on to the parade of designs.
