I've seen no mention of it here. Is it still a go? Anybody here going?

I'm looking forward to finally getting back out there.

I already bought my airline tickets at least a month ago (sale) so I'm good to go if they are.

We're looking forward to attending. Hard to believe it's been so long since the last Baltimore.

I received an email just a few days ago...it's a go. Many people I'm talking with are very leery about going due to the decline of the area. I haven't confirmed, but a friend of mine said they are using the convention center to house illegal immigrants. I'm not setting up any more, but am on the fence about going until things settle down.

I live near there. I will get you the local update and report back. Doesn't sound right to me.

As long as the show's on, I'm going. Hoping to get some crossovers submitted to PCGS in person. Been waiting on the next iteration of Baltimore for a while!

its usually pretty safe if you stay right around the convention center and not drift too far back towards next block.

One time , my wife and i headed up late and got in about 12:30 am, we were looking for a place to stay. Usually I call ahead, but was spur of the moment. Made a turn down the wrong way off pratt, and ended up in the slums. Was trying to get out of there fast. reminded me of that movie vacation with chevy chase where they turned off the interstate into the ghetto.

I enjoyed the ANA shows there in 1985,1993,2003 and 2008 but I would not want to go there now.

It's not that bad as long as you stay in the Inner Harbor area.

I hope I'm wrong! I will say I've attended every show for more than the last 2 decades(minus 1 summer show). Ever since the 99% protests(how long ago was that?) the area seemed to slide a bit each time I was there.

Agreed... I work at UMB downtown and usually just walk to the Convention Center from my office. The University was using part of the facility for Covid 19 testing and vaccination, but there were no homeless being housed there... as far as I know...

I finally took the time to do some google searching and the only thing that would come up was the Dallas Convention Center so I suspect my friend was confusing the 2.

It's definitely a pass for me this time, and I'm not sure if I will ever get to go to a Baltimore show again. My wife, who used to enjoy the city, is now afraid of the crime problem.

Really no crime issue at all in and around the inner harbor. Very safe and a nice place with decent restaurants. I am looking forward to it.

Time will tell. The panhandlers were slowly increasing over the years after they purged the area a decade or so ago. No telling what it will be like now after everything that has happened in this country since the last show. I think your statement made me really think and make up my mind not to go this time. I'll wait and see how it goes for the brave that do go! :/

I have gone to the show since the early 90s and never had an issue. There are some panhandlers I suppose in the area but have never been approached by one regardless (BTW, I doubt that panhandlers are robbing people in any case).

The inner harbor is like an island surrounded by villains. You are lucky! I'm not so sure how well protected that little island is these days.

I recommend the Sheraton Inner Harbor which is located within walking distance to the Convention Center and the Inner Harbor pavilions. 😎

Same here - will drive down and come back home on same day during daylight hours. Have been looking forward to this show... and agree Inner Harbor is the safest place in the city; but doesn't mean it is safe 24/7 so y'all be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Just booked flights to attend the show on Thursday. I’ll be flying in and out same day, as I’m not interested in spending any time in Baltimore.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

  • amwldcoinamwldcoin Posts: 11,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Pricey unless you can get a deal on priceline or the likes. But it is connected...sortta to the convention center. Tis the most convenient!
