11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
If the coin’s been cleaned, I can’t tell from the images. It looks considerably more original than a very high percentage of other examples of the type.

NO, not cleaned.
I believe it is original.

Looks original.
Your close up pictures look like they were taken from pictures in a book!
Agree it’s not cleaned, and since you asked for additional comments, I’ll add that this coin is a capped bust half. The draped bust halves are considered the series from 1801 to 1807. The capped bust series started in 1807.
The close-up photos can’t tell you anything because the dots that make them up are too course. The only useable photo is the one of the entire coin. That makes the coin look okay, but having burned on a coin that had that look at certain angles, but detectable cleaning hairlines at others, I can’t give a definitive answer.
What he said... close-ups with bright light appears to distort the actual coin photo. Looks pretty original to me from the full photo... but it is only a single shot from one angle and lighting.
Looks OK to me.
I would say not cleaned.....A couple of other pictures of the coin in its entirety would help further. Cheers, RickO
I can't tell from the pics.
You have a nice original piece, at least an extremely fine.

Looks good from here
No one can tell if it's been cleaned from those pics with any degree of certainty. You would have to look at it in hand under a bright light (incandescent or halogen) while rotating the coin while looking for patterns of hairlines.

I thought that they were taken off a computer screen that was attached to a microscope or other….
