Wow, will be sure to follow this.
Rumor has it that all new error coin submissions will be reviewed by forum polls
Just don’t tell anyone I said that.
Mike, thank you for the link.
Wow, just wow.
Thank you Fred for all of your advice over the years.
What an amazing career and role model.
Enjoy your time as there is so much to explore out there.
All the best, Chris
I hope it wasn't because I was calling him 5 times a day with my Walmart parking lot finds.
Those are gonna be some mighty big shoes to fill at PCGS. Mighty big.
Wait - you have to sell your coins when you retire? Guess I'm working a lot longer than I want to...
We are all just caretakers for a time. At some point new caretakers are required.
Congratulations, Fred. Your advice here has been top notch!
One of the legends of numismatics and a friend to us all.
@FredWeinberg Thanks for all of the advice over time. Congrats on retirement!

Good for him. If and when he would even retire from the forum. We will definitely miss all his expertise input!

Do we take care of the coins, or do they take care of us?
Congrats @FredWeinberg !
What a great and illustrious career!
Nice slab insert too
Date and mint on the edge starting in 2009 although some are probably without like the Presidential dollars.
It’s definitely missing the date, it’s underweight
Well...
...It's not the end of the world unless that means he won't be stopping in here often.
Wow, big news. He’s reviewed a few gold errors I’ve found. I’ve always enjoyed showing him my finds. Congrats on the retirement Fred!

I think it was meant as a joke.
Like the old Country Music song " Who's going to fill his shoes? ".
Wow. What a stellar career. It’s really something to be the expert on something. It’s even better when that person is a nice guy too. Happy retirement!

Well, I guess the Tyrant Collection will be my second stop at the ANA now. First, I've got to find out what Heritage will be showing off in the way of Fred's error coins.

Good morning all – wow thanks for all the kind words and thoughts -
Yes I will continue to read and post here – hard to take that out of my bloodstream!
No – it’s not for any health reasons; in fact I’m healthy and that’s one of the half dozen reasons I decided to retire after 50 Years as a full-time coin dealer and numismatist- Stop by my table next week and I’ll show you one of the other half a dozen reasons!
I’ll be at the AMA my table is 420 and look forward to seeing a lot of you during the week
@FredWeinberg I'm glad its not for health reasons. Enjoy retirement. Just a guess but is the reason a grandchild?

Congrats on your retirement! I hope they give you a an improperly annealed gold watch with a die crack on the face, misaligned numbers, and doubling on the date inscription on the back (It’s only appropriate, right?).
All the best to you in your long and happy retirement!
Congrats, Fred, I'm sorry I never got to meet up with you at any of the national shows, but I'm happy to hear you will still be hanging around here.
Edited to add: please make sure to share links when your coins come up for auction at Heritage, I would love to have a coin with your pedigree in my collection.

Congrats on the retirement! I'm looking forward to seeing the coins. I bought this from Fred last July for my Prime Number set.

@FredWeinberg I’m glad to hear you will still post on the forums. I remember being amazed that you were on these forums because I remembered all your articles in Coin magazines all the way back to when I started collecting as a kid.

Fred- smart move consigning your collection to HA. Heritage Auctions has been getting record prices for spectacular mint errors!
Heritage Auctions also has some spectacular U.S. proof mint errors in their upcoming ANA Chicago Auction.
Well this auction is going to be exciting. Congrats Fred. Met you at the WFOM and I learned some great stuff from your expertise. Peace Roy
