On another note, should CAC grade silver dimes?

  • CasabrownCasabrown Posts: 2,160 ✭✭✭

I have no basis to answer your question.

An update on the Roosies, beginning on 1/9/2022: The clads will be on GC

Like Danny, I'm unable to join the gang this time. Sometimes life just gets in the way, more important expenses and other family needs. However, I'll open my last bottle of Caymus 2012 40th Anniversary Bottle in yawl's (southern term) honor and make a toast.

Got to view the first ever 69FT Roosie at FUN. This gem found its way to Nick for a very very healthy sum. Appropriate that he’s owned both the first 69 and 69FT Rosie’s. Congrats.🎉 I won’t name names, but similar congrats to two sharp eyed Roosie buffs who found and made the spectacular coin.

Good idea. But it's not a coin unless it's in PCGS Plastic, right...

Yes I bought the NGC 1947D MS69FT through negotiations over a bourbon with the owner in the bar at the Rosen Center.
It was consigned to Heritage and has now been pulled. I believe the pic is still up at Heritage if you want to view the coin.
to answer lablovers question. I bought the coin not the holder.

It was great seeing you at FUN and slugging some good brown water together.

Nick thank you for buying the 47D I can’t think of a person who I would rather pass this coin to.

I'm always around. I'm selling my dimes and other coins through Great Collections. I'm not sure what direction my collecting is going, but I've had enough of the Roosie dime and Moderns for a while. Been working on a complete American Silver Eagle set. Also going to several banks in my area looking for $2.00 notes. I have a couple thousand now. LOL.

    Later, Paul.

Here’s a cool semi pl roosie, I’m not sure how you guys feel about non toners but I figured this post needed some loves.

    I like it. ALOT !!!

  • skamienieckiskamieniecki Posts: 92 ✭✭✭

I have a complete Roosevelt Dime Set in a Dansco Album. The set includes all business uncs, proofs, SMS, 2005-2010 satin finish and business strikes, the March of Dimes coins, and the 1982 no P a total of 284 coins. It would be a huge undertaking to have the set graded. Using the PCGS site and conservative grading (MS63/PF65) the coins would be valued at $1,327. Can anyone offer an opinion on the value of such a collection?

  • Tom147Tom147 Posts: 1,484 ✭✭✭✭✭

Are you talking the silvers too ? 46 to present ? Clads sourced from circulation or mint sets ?

  • skamienieckiskamieniecki Posts: 92 ✭✭✭

No coins sourced from circulation. All issues from 1946 to present. All proofs, clad and silver, all clads sourced from mint sets.

  • Dan50Dan50 Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭

WHAT!!!! Date for last Roosie talk is

So here goes. I have some dimes at PCGS. You heard me DIMES. I'm Waiting........

  • Tom147Tom147 Posts: 1,484 ✭✭✭✭✭

Dan50, whatcha submit ? I'm all ears. If somebody is willing, I'll talk everyday about my little silver & clad friends. My set has come a long way over the last 18 months.

  • Dan50Dan50 Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭

Tom I only have eight submitted right now. They are about ready I think.
    69D
    70D
    70D
    71
    71D
    73D
    76
    82P
Have a bunch more ready to go Dimes, Quarters, Half Kennedys halfs, Ikes, and a ton of pennies. But dimes are still my biggest interest.

Dan50, Roosies are my primary focus as well. Going to go thru my mint sets from the 60's thru the early 90's to see if anything worth submitting. I seriously don't expect to find much as my current clads are mostly 1 grade below top pop. I do have a few already graded that one of the top Roosie guys tells me they are candidates for upgrades or full band designation. You get a chance check out my 46 - 64 fb set and 46 to present fb set. Your opinion welcomed sir.

Dan, can you slab me a 1974P and a 1990P FB in any grade. I’ll pay handsomely.

  • Dan50Dan50 Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭

Funny you should ask about the 74P. It looks FB to me, but I'm not going to believe it until it comes back as such. I was looking through tubes of coins from twenty years ago. Found some great 70 coins, 70D's A nice 71FB. Couple of 76's, 71 D FB. Nice 73FB, couple others I hope come back in high grades. Also some quarters that seem nice. A very nice toned 57 toned quarters. And a couple nice 55 D quarters.
