First Shots with new Camera

I picked up a Sony A7Rm4 and just got it set up. I took both a high resolution stack and stitch and a 10x mag 3D rendering of a 1955-S "Sausage" BIE B650, the "biggest" BIE in the Lincoln series. The high resolution image is 9400x9400 pixels, so I'm not sure how the forum software is going to handle it. The 3D image is pretty small:

Incredible!
fwiw, i think the 54-s is bigger. i should have an image in my bst thread. BUT it isn't a double like yours.
you are still the only one i've seen take those stellar 3D images and they DO NOT fail to impress.
i would bet if enough varieties/errors were imaged like that, a few things would be clarified/uncovered.
Awesome 👍🏻

What is your lighting set up for these?
Impressive!
I think the photos are so sharp and detailed (spectacular), it’ll make all of my coins look ugly with plenty of “distractions”, lol.

Wow! Amazing shot.
Thanks everyone!
I looked around but did not see the 54-S. Is it in the collage you posted?
I use the "smile directors" that I invented almost a decade ago. Do a Google search for "coin photography smile directors" and there is a lot of info on them. The various threads describe their direct application to the heads of Jansjos, but some threads describe how to do similar things with lens-mounted diffusers. The ones I've been using for several years are actual ringlights, with the unwanted parts masked-off. One guy 3D prints them. There are many ways to implement them.

@rmpsrpms ... Those are incredible pictures.... feels like one could walk around on the surface of the coin and look at the details.....Really great.... Cheers, RickO

What everyone else said. I mean seriously, If I had that set up and could take those kinds of pictures...you would never see me again.

ya, it is in the comp. around half way down or so. maybe a little higher. (actually at the top. doh)
Yours is 1954-S BIE B506. It's the biggest one of 1954-S and one of the biggest overall, but the Sausage is in a league of its own. Here are the two for comparison:
54-S B506

55-S B650

Wow, nice pics!!! Now you need to do a 3-D pic of a beat up "rare" parking lot find. Bet that would look exciting!

What is your magnification on the BIEs?
Thanks for posting those great photos, Ray! You are the BEST coin photographer.
Thanks again to all for the kind comments.
I shot all of the high mag photos with 10x magnification.

Great work👌👍
Amazing photography.
I saw your BST post and keep trying to justify the cost of purchasing a setup for myself. Keep up the great work.

That second photo is a great perspective.
Kind of looks like where Apollo 15 was exploring 50 years ago.

wow
thats impressive !!!!!
88MP…..that’s a lot of photo! Nicely done!
Thanks everyone!
It for sure is big, but also keep in mind it is square. If it were a normal 3:2 aspect ratio like comes out of most DSLRs, it would be 132MP.

What software is used for the 3D pics?
I use Helicon Focus for both 2D Focus Stacking and 3D Depth Map Rendering.
