Okay, no jokes about the name.

Have you read "A Short History of a Small Place" by T.R. Pearson? it's hilarious and set in your neck of the woods.
"Varina" probably refers to Varina Davis, wife of Jefferson Davis, which is also the name of the tiny community where my office is located

You live in one of the most beautiful areas of the U.S.A. Being from California , I found it very interesting how people in other states refer to the area where they live. i.e., North East Tennessee. I can understand West Tennessee, Central (Mid?) Tennessee, and East Tennessee. But Northeast? The idea that Tennessee has a Northern or Southern area just seems odd. The one that stands out most to me happened in Massachusetts. I read in a local newspaper that a certain event occurred in South West Massachusetts. WHAT? I mean there's a Southern California that extends for about 400 miles and a Northern California that extends for around another 400 miles but Massachusetts is smaller than the County where live. South West Massachusetts????? Blink while driving there and you miss the whole state!......Anyway, the area around Bristol, Tenn. is beautiful!
Of course so many people are pouring into the state now from California, New York, and Chicago that all bets are off as the culture changes while incorporating newcomers.
Too bad for you. So many young people with families here in California want to get out. EVERYBODY?!?! I don't blame them. Destination...... TENNESSEE! I tell them that they won't be able to handle the weather. Humidity etc. I tell them they should consider another Western state just because of the air that they are used to. Anyway, who listens? So many friends, family etc. have moved to the South and then HATE the weather. Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia. They want to come back to California but can't afford it now. They're stuck. Once you leave California you can never come back......too expensive.
P.S. A very large segment of the population in Southern California has generational roots in the Southern states. They're just just going back home to the places where Grandma and Grandpa came from. I don't blame them.
Lol, I don’t have a problem with people moving around. It happens. It’s just odd that they have all chosen Tennessee as their destination all of a sudden.
I think you’re right, people really underestimate the heat and humidity factors if they haven’t faced them before. It’s definitely not for everyone.
I have many, many friends who chose East Tennessee to retire in for various reasons, suchas, nice lakes, relatively inexpensive property, no harsh winters, no personal income tax, absolutely great long summers, beautiful fall. A lot like my home in Southern WV, although I went through school in Kingsport, TN. Graduated from DB, then after military UT. Love the state but I'll remain here were I was born. In fact, I live in the house I was born in.

Relax, no one is coming after you. To say, “I live in metro Boston”, as several members have done, does not put them and their collections in danger.

True - When I said I live a bit West of Cleveland, well here ya go........ If anybody can make it to my house sometime this week during the afternoon, I'll fire up the grill and have some cold ones waiting for ya -
I hope that point sinks in.
No one can find you.
Although I would love to meet you for a Browns game.
Are you guys serious? Based on several posters to this thread already, I could find out where they live, their telephone number and what they do in about 15 mins. I didn’t but the info is out there if I wanted to.
Plus, people can hack a site and you’re making it easier for them to find you.
This isn’t a weird conspiracy theory. You’re putting info about yourself to the whole world.
I googled myself the other day and found pictures of my house, one overhead and one from the street. My old Mitsubishi was in the driveway. It's probably more revealing using a debit or credit card.
