When I was a kid, I dreamed of owning one of these, but I couldn't afford it. Today, with more knowledge and a larger budget, I dream of building a high quality set of them, but I can't afford that. Life is cruel, but at least it has a sense of humor.

Great-looking coin, RYK. I seriously thought about picking up a '97 Large Eagle after acquiring my '01 Eagle, but decided to stay focused on the Half Eagles instead.
Nice piece of history. I was the caretaker of an 1808 $5 for a while. Beautiful coin some prominent die clash marks and a little color. It’s moved on to another caretaker. I’d like to get another but my wife wants a new kitchen.
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

Absolutely gorgeous! And while there are 32 in this date and grade (22 by PCGS and 10 by NGC), only two of those 32 merit the coveted CAC sticker! AND YOURS IS ONE OF THOSE TWO!!!! Way to go!!!!
And the coin is gorgeous! And the coin is gorgeous!

Nice! I’m still in the “always wanted one” category. But I may pull it off in 5-10 years.

Awesome coin, an early gold coin of this type is on my short list for when I downsize to a box of 1.
