I like both though I’m partial to Barber halves in all grades. The example posted by @USSID17 has the perfect look for a well circulated Barber—gunmetal gray with charcoal highlights around the devices.
I chose bust dimes because I enjoy all grades, even culls. Barber halves, I really only like in XF or better. I have seen too many low grade barber halves (AG or lower) to be able to enjoy the lower grades.
Bust dimes. The only Barber haves I like are high grade ones.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Bust hands down. Sorry I know the photos are a touch out of focus

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Barber hands down.
Oddly, I don’t have one of either, yet.
I think I’m on Team Dime on this one, but I’m sure I’ll own both before I’m done.

I like both but if I have to choose, I choose the Bust Dime. It's hard to beat those old designs.
Love both. Both were heavy use commerce coins of their respective time periods.
No Contest - Bust by far
Tough decision.
Considering that I have 2,232 Barber half $, and 11 Bust dimes, I guess I'd have to go with the Barbers

Both are nice, but I'm partial to Barbers.
Me thinks busts are more desirable. To me the obv design is more sophisticated. Peace Roy

I prefer the Barber Halves. However, I like the antiquity of the Bust Dimes.
I would choose bust dimes over barber halves.

I have both as types raw. I’d say I prefer the Barber half in circulated condition. Nice big circam silver coin usually wins for me.

No contest! Barber by far!
This is what makes this hobby great!
Bust dimes, certainly the earlier larger diameter version.
Now if it was Bust Dimes vrs. Barber Dimes I would go with the Bust Dimes!
Edit to add....and no I would not take Bust Halves over my precious Barber Halves!
The larger the chunk of silver, the better!
I prefer the Barber Half.
Barber Halves
As a type coin, Bust Dimes.
As a collectible series, Barber halves.
Barber Halves, pleasing set to collect.
I don't presently own either, but my take is "size matters".
The Bust Dime over a Barber Half for "cool" factor as a type coin, but an album full of VF-XF Barber Halves is a sight to behold...

Either are good numismatic training wheels for real coins ... you know, Capped Bust halves!

BUST DIMES!
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
Wow! That sure shocks me.
Torn between two lovers ...
Maybe that's how I came to love Bust Dimes Barber Halves
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

"Feelin like a fool! Lovin you both ... is breakin all the rules!
I dislike Dimes in general and love Barber Halves in particular.

I'd go for the Barber Half because it's larger.
Of course, a Bust Half would give the Barber a run for its money!
I chose bust dimes because I enjoy all grades, even culls. Barber halves, I really only like in XF or better. I have seen too many low grade barber halves (AG or lower) to be able to enjoy the lower grades.
Gimme the dimes.
After looking at both together, I wonder if there is a 'LIBERTY' on the cap underneath all of those leaves on the Barber???
Bust dimes. The only Barber haves I like are high grade ones.
I like both but don't own either - yet!
As an alternative, mid-grade barber quarters are relativity cheap but so hard to fine nice! So if I had to pick one it would be Barber.
I do not do either as a series, however, I am always partial to big silver coins.... Cheers, RickO
