I think it's time to get rid of the quarter.

The TV ads promoting a TV Reality Show starring Cardi B has her stating "............ you don't know me........"

    She is correct.

I do not know her. She does not know me.

Hopefully it will stay that way B)

I know. All of our most accomplished actresses from Mary Pickford to Kathryn Hepburn have been completely ignored.

Agree completely Our first female VP Kamala would be wonderful. I'd also vote for Mrs. Obama but guess she's already getting one of those first spouse gold ones. God bless America!

It's kinda sad how many LOL's I got for that suggestion.

Many here want a pretty actress on a coin.

This forum has a very long way to go.

Yes, so then billionaires can buy their way onto coins. Corporations can buy advertising space on coins. All it takes is enough lobbying dollars.

There is a reason for the rules.

Since we know we will end up 1) with an ugly design, 2) with a real person and 3) a PC coin. why don't we just nominate Moms Mabley for the honor and get it over with.

Best suggestions so far in my humble opinion...

Dr. Mary Walker - Prisoner of war, surgeon and much more...

Amelia Earhart - If you don't know who she is you just didn't go to school at all lol.

Lucille Ball...how great would it be to have an entertaining coin?!
So many wonderful moments to choose from...the grape stomping fight, too much yeast...and of course these classics...

In no particular order, but also some women worthy of consideration, although I liked the OP list overall as a start, but Raquel must have had quite an influence. :)

    Mary Harris "Mother" Jones
    Annie Oakley
    Grandma Moses
    Ayn Rand

Mary Ludwig Hays McCauley.... "Molly Pitcher"

A heroine in the Revolutionary War. Carried water to American soldiers during the Battle of Monmouth during the American Revolution 1778, then took over for her husband on the battlefield when he was no longer able to fight.

A soldier who witnessed her in action wrote about in his diary, without referring to the woman involved by name: “While in the act of reaching a cartridge and having one of her feet as far before the other as she could step, a cannon shot from the enemy passed directly between her legs without doing any other damage than carrying away all the lower part of her petticoat.”
It's believed she said something like, “Well, that could have been worse,” then returned to firing her cannon.

I like Harriet Tubman since risked her life to free slaves. Also, she was a staunch Republican, a devout Christian, and a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. There are pictures of her holding a rifle. She advocated that freed slaves should buy a gun and learn how to use it to assure their freedom would never be taken away from them. She was truly a great American.

She was a great American who risked everything to help others.

They are still considering her for the $20 bill:

@Zoins If Harriet Tubman ever makes it onto the $20 bill, she won't be shown holding a gun even though many contemporary pics of her showing her holding a gun.

Guns are too sensitive now, but its an important part of history and those times.

Here's an article on her history which includes her slave name Minty Ross.

Not enough support or interest. Congressman Andy Barr put together a bill in 2013 for the House of Representatives but there was not enough support from constituents or legislators.

Exactly putting a living VP on the coin is 1. Too much like a monarchy
    2. Too controversial considering about 1/2 the country dislikes her.

Even worse, she's not even retired.

I mean, if you put George W. Bush on a coin, at least he's not potentially running for something. What is the value to a candidate to have an actual circulating coin with your image on it?
