Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
My latest obsession is with the Wayte Raymond style albums. I’ve been casually collecting these for the last 2 decades, but ever since I pulled them out of storage a few months back I’ve become obsessed with trying to organize them and figure out exactly what I have and obtain any boards or binders I don’t have an example of. Here’s a picture from a few months back when I first pulled them out of storage
But since then I’ve acquired a bunch more, even some of the original Beistle covers like what’s shown in the patent drawings that are pictured in David Lange’s book.
Undiscovered insect species and their life stages. This is the male genitalia of a midge whose larvae live associated with freshwater mussels and feed on their glochidia (baby mussels).
I collect spare car parts for when my daily driver breaks down on the side of the highway, I can fix it right there everytime. I guess that means I collect tools too...

Wildflower species and native trees. I have 10 Ac that I plant them on and collect native and rare wildflowers, plants and native trees. It is challenge since some of them take real knowledge to get them to germinate. Some need years of stratification in the right conditions to germinate.
@SoCalBigMark Those gems are really cool. Is there a problem with counterfeits? Do you buy them raw or are they already graded when you buy them. Is it difficult to price them? They look like a really neat collectable.
