Stamps and novelty playing cards for me. Coins are far and away #1, tho.
Me too. Would love to see some.
I actually still collect Pokemon from the PokemonGo app. Now that there's over 700 of them and I'm up to 530+, you still gotta catch them all! I think this is like filling in hole in a registry set.

While I still have a substantial collection, I started selling a few years ago.
I collect industrial art and apparently colonial cut glass
Will post the glass if anyone’s interested
Pulp science fiction magazines and scarcer sf paperbacks, political buttons, vinyl records, some stamps, horse racing memorabilia and ephemera, older original wire photos involving horses or some of my favorite baseball players, a few baseball cards.
....well you asked....
I like that old pump. I was outside cleaning up just this morning and I ran across the old hand water pump that we used on the ranch long, long ago. It looks just like yours only it's about 5' tall. It was half buried so I dug it out. I'm thinking of restoring it for the little Hydrants. It was painted a dark forrest green color when I was a kid. But...I've got a gallon of glossy fire engine red paint around here that I use on the old Ford 8-N tractor. I need to use it up so fire engine red that pump will be!
Also, when I was a kid in high school I used to do metal art like that motorcycle you have. Mostly I did old sailing battleships. Made some good money and still have one left. It's in my office. So......I guess you and I have a few things in common. COOL!
Space artifacts.
Here's the flown Flight Plan (in essence, the Log) from Apollo 12, the second manned Moon landing in history. The Apollo 11 Flight Plan was sold off page by page (by Buzz Aldrin) and no longer exists except as individual pages owned by roughly 100 - 150 individuals. So, this Apollo 12 Flight Plan is the earliest complete Moon landing Flight Plan in existence.

These are interesting hobbies keep them coming. I heard the older Pokémon cards from the 90s are valuable!
UK/Irish antique sterling silver items, 12-15th Century carved stone heads, 15th-18th century oak carvings.
Humm, numismatic literature preferably autographed, Rookwood pottery, interesting (to me) silver objects, fountain pens, dust, maybe more of an accumulation of firearms, art nouveau and Art Deco objects.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
Those old Novak ESCs. They dont make those anymore!
Back in the day I used to collect anything related to rose vases, such as pop bottles, vases, etc. because we grew a lot of Old Garden Roses in those years.

Bespoke pure AAA Cashmere hand sewn, ex Sir David Tatham Governor of the Falklands, journalist and diplomat •••••• Jack Taylor Hollywood bespoke hand sewn for Silicon Valley Billionaire Jerry Sanders . Jack Taylor was quite the character. He dressed Hollywood, Sinatra, Cary Grant, He made suits for Harry Truman and The Duke of Windsor. Active as a tailor until nearly 100 years old! They made a movie about him, Jack Taylor Hollywood, I recommend it. Owning a piece of his suiting is like....well, he dressed Cary Grant.! PS. Sports memorabilia, hockey trading cards, and a few autographs. Mrs. Storm collects Disney memorabilia and Hummel figurines, I help her in those pursuits occasionally .
@Hydrant
Yea the pump I have is from Seneca NY bought it at an auction a few years ago in Utica NY.
I’m always looking for this type of stuff, especially if I can use it. I bought an industrial sized 36” fan that stands on a 6’ pole for my place a few years ago, probably circa 1940.. Works great, has 2 speeds: tornado and hurricane, my animals won’t even go into the same room when it’s on.
some stamps, some currency, lots of artwork, crystals, rocks, minerals, meteorites, cut & faceted gemstones
Similar to many, I've collected a number of seashells, mineral samples, fossils, meteorites, assorted art, antiques, artifacts..
and a few cutting tools

Did I mention I have way too many sports cards

Oh, I forgot, I sort of have a collection of old medicine bottles too. I got most of ‘em from my great uncle when he passed, stuff from the 30s and 40s mostly but a couple from turn of the century. I’ve added a few bottles here and there, they are sort of interesting conversation pieces.
@pocketpiececommems
quite a collection of arrow heads, very nice

That’s an anemometer on the lower left. Used in the mines to measure air flow. May have a pharmaceutical use too?
That is a cool shelf Here’s one of mine that’s a bit out of control right now

What time is it?
Old pocket watches/ watches are great to collect,
a lot of engineering, thought, manufacturing techniques went into producing them.

So true, Bob Novak made some great stuff back in the day. I remember what a change it was going from resister arm speed controls to the very first Novak.

My other hobby is collecting & maintaining tropical fish species. This photo shows a small portion of my aquaria studio which holds about 90 aquariums. With coins I collect U.S. history (and learn the stories that go with them). With fish I collect the diversity of life across the planet (and learn the stories that go with them). Tomorrow morning I'll be receiving a shipment of 8 different imported species to add to my collection.
My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.
Thanks. I actually just had it serviced a few months ago. I usually service my own pocket watches but it had a balance issue that needed to be repaired. Luckily I have a friend that only charged me $100.

I’m so old I collect dust.
@DNADave “That’s an anemometer on the lower left. Used in the mines to measure air flow. May have a pharmaceutical use too?”
You have a great eye for antiques. The one on my shelf belonged to my brother-in-law. He was a coal mine map maker that made maps of the coal mines as the mines were being made in SW Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He was the last one of them and mapped the last mine in West Virginia before they stopped mining that way in the 1980s. He went back to college after that and got a degree in a different field. He’s totally retired now though.
I borrowed it from him years ago cause I liked it, but I ended up using it in the late 80s to map and balance the airflow in a soft gelatin capsule drying room so it got repurposed into having a pharmaceutical use.
Oh, and your shelf looks like it has some really cool stuff on it.
