I see a lot of meat, enough to say if it straight grades it's an EF40 candidate. Maybe a bit baggy and beat, but still.
Also, I think it might straight grade. None of the marks I see suggest otherwise, and I think the wonky color and surface appearance is PROBABLY the picture.

XF polished. Some of these have the appearance of an old plating (not the case). A surprising amount of Barber halves (compared to Walking Liberty halves) were cleaned, especially for the upper circulated grades. A wonderful DANSCO type coin yet certainly not one I'd submit.

It's been through a lot. I would pass. Buy a coin (or house or car etc.) knowing someday you'll probably sell it. That coin will be a tough sell.
