I double checked the player rankings alone. there could be other errors, e.g. metals quotes, because today Google Sheets seems to be creating all sorts of strange errors.
RobM - Please PM me your address for the #1 prize: a previously painted silver eagle
KLiao - you win "the least prize" which may or may not be the least I could do. At $8935.28 you finished closest to $9000.00. You didn't make $300,000 but you also did not lose $7,500! Prize? as previously spelled out, a small dollar, preferably a SBA. However, this looks like it isn't the least I could do. I apparently (maybe) pulled a "Wide Rim" 1979 SBA (shown above) which is worth more than $1! Either way, you win! Please PM me your address
It was looking like it would be all wallstreetbets and crypto apes at the top, but JohnnyCache displaced derryb’s Bitcoin play. Hail ridiculous petro related prices. Now that Bitcoin has been dominated maybe we can see negative $40 oil again.
one thing about the dogecoin choice back at the start:
$22,370,000,000 market cap now @ $0.168669
means a market cap of about $625,599,784 on Dec 31.
this was not the equivalent of a penny stock back then.

also, as it turns out, GoogleSheets, google's answer to Excel, only reports quotes to 2 decimal places. This prohibits accurate pricing of penny stocks.
Pulling crypto quotes off of yahoo and coindesk gives several digits behind the decimal

I wanna hear what RobM's 2022 pick would've been!
Someone could do an 11 month contest and start at the end of January. The setup is the long part of the job. if picks are to be due by the 3rd week in Jan, there'd be 1 week to work on it.
Thanks, MsMorrisine, for all the hard work running the contest. The Doge got off to a hot start but was nervously looking back most of the year (hit high at end of April). If there were a competition for 2022... I would be on rhodium.
I was not aiming for the bottom! I guess 2021 was not the year for quantum computing. If there is a 2022 contest I would stick with quantum but go with a better company: IONQ.

you've got some competition.

Will there be a contest for ‘22?
I’m encouraging other managers to try out
It wouldn’t be the same without it
GoogleSheets can do the job but there is one issue - it only does 2 digits after the decimal. Penny stocks would be out.
What happened with the final rankings here? I have a 1/2oz to send out for the mid spot - #22.
I have a couple of the to send out

Once again, for the 4th year in a row, silver ended up on the short stick. Thank God, I did not personally own any of my picks.

@s4ny, PM me your info to claim your last last place 1oz silver item.
And thanks to MM for yet another successful investment contest!!

Usually the painted ones are basket cases, but we got lucky with eBay of all places.
