So-Called Dollars have been a passion of mine for some time. They are a fun series to collect as they dive into American History. It's fascinating to learn about both the events they commemorated and the people behind them.

Taking a cue from fellow SC$ collector @keets, here's my current set of PCGS TrueViewed So-Called Dollars. I have a few more, but the others are PCGS without TrueViews, slabbed by ATS or raw at the moment.

Nice collection, Zoins. I truly love the Victory Medal. I've always looked for one, just never found it at the time with spare money.

someone stated quite a while ago in some thread that "we are just temporary custodians" of the coins and medals that we collect, that they always move on to somewhere and someone else. I'm happy to know who the current custodian is of some medals I cherished when I was their custodian. it is indeed a sad reality that we can't keep everything forever and indeed a couple that Zoins now owns are medals I thought I'd never sell.

it's too bad NGC doesn't allow access to their images, I'd like to see some of what you can't post. if the quality matches the TV's they must be quite an assortment.

    All good stuff I like

To make my self clearer regarding your Victory Medal, most have a small ring for attaching the ribbon, the few that do not are harder to find. Many are available with the ribbon and are very inexpensive.

It's an honor to be the custodian of some of your great So-Called Dollars @keets! You put a lot of care and deliberation into your set which I always admired. When it comes time for me to part with these, I hope the next caretaker is as appreciative of the wonderful history these provide!

I'm glad you are still collecting and your set looks as great as ever!

Here are two NGC So-Called Dollars which I've been on the hunt for a long time and was happy to pick up this year. I still need a HK-139.

Here's my HK-820. This is one of my earlier pickups, likely a 2016 acquisition, in a PCGS slab without a TrueView.

This is one of the ones I picked up from @keets and feel very lucky to have done so.

    Here's his description:

HK-910 Brass WWII Victory Medal(R-7). This is a relatively common medal, listed as an R-1 with a loop attached, many members probably own one with a ribbon still attached to the loop. We have a few in our store but finding one without the loop can be a daunting task. I bought this on eBay around 2002-3 as an XF45 and expected to see evidence of the loop being removed, but there was none. My hope was to have it in a prong holder where the rim is visible and I also asked PCGS to no "Unlooped" on the insert. The size is 36mm and what looks like rub on Liberty is actually discoloration from resting obverse down for a long time. The symbolism on this medal is really great and the reverse message is very clear.

@Zoins... thanks for the extra info. No question the Victory Medal is special. I have only seen two for sale like yours(supposedly without removal evidence) and missed them both. Great collection and thank you for sharing them with us.
