Special Shout Out to CoinScratchFever From a YN

My son was the lucky Thanksgiving winner from @coinscratchfever . Coins arrived today.

First, he was super excited to get mail. And I let him use his knife to open the box.

After a small discussion of knife safety, he started cutting away from his body...

Then, he started digging out goodies....


Little Sis was excited too!

Finally, sorted through his bounty!

    Great idea, CoinScratchFever. I may do something with my mint and proof sets akin to your Thanksgiving YN giveaway. I have always tried to be generous to YN's but that is going the extra step. I believe if enough of us did such a large giveaway it would be more likely to draw a youngster's attention than a single or few coins. It would give them so much to do looking for varieties and so much education learning what to look for in all the denominations. Absolute great idea.

    I was beyond speechless when I saw his number drawn. He is a very lucky boy. I will say that I had tons of fun watching him pull stuff out. I attempted to let him use my loupe to look at the 79 sets for type 1 and type 2 S coins. I tried to draw a picture, but dont know if he truly saw what he was supposed to.

    Oh, Im sure she will get some duplicates. She has won her own contest on this forum in the past, so I didnt enter her in it.

    THAT IS SWEET!!!!

    I have a very good friend I gave his son some coins for his 10th birthday. He always tells me he looks at them. Gave him a Morgan, peace dollar, walking liberty, standing library, some others but his favorite is the large cent. Definitely a good feeling when I go over his house and Evan has it spread out on the table with his plastic safe.
