Nothing lately, and I'm searching through a box of quarters every week. I was excited last month as each week I received a pristine box of Salt River Bay quarters...but all P's no W's. Very frustrating, but on the bright side, I've found more silver, even if it's considered junk silver, than if I weren't looking.
so called coin shortage seems to be easing up, was able to get 15 boxes this week, all dirty recycled roll enders. Didn't bother to search them.

You're finding silver quarters in the boxes? Great job! Very cool....

I'm completely out of the know on this - how and where do you get 'boxes of quarters'?
Hi, at this time, you typically need quarters to exchange for new rolls/boxes. If you do not have, you can build them up by repeatedly going to the bank and getting what they will allow little by little (increase by multiple branches). From there you have the power to exchange your rolls for new boxes/rolls when they come in.
_But actually I have a relationship with the desk clerk(s) at my local Safeway(s) and they contact me when they get new quarter rolls come in, and I can either exchange or they will let me buy (ATM, cash back) them outright if they have enough.
The keys are:
1) Build relationships and your bank and also local stores (Safeway, Nobhill and even T-Joe's)
2) If you have a printer at work/home, make some copy of the image of the quarters - A picture is worth a thousand words, you give the pictures to the tellers/clerks so hey know what to look for
3) On the pictures include your phone number so they can call you fast when they come in - or they will be gone
4) Stock pills quarters because you will need them if exchange is required
5) Leg work, these rolls move fast and you have to be committed to being at the right place at the right time
Number one is the most important, having the relationship with the folks who have the rolls in their hands - I have teller give me $100 in rolls during the shortage because of the relationship that I built.
I give them old Indian Head nickels as a show of appreciation.
Good luck on your search, I hope that this helped answer your question, Joe

Yes RickO, that is the difference, see my post above. I am very aggressive as I keep some, give some to family and sell a ton on eBay to buy silver nuggets...

Go to your local bank, ask if you could buy a box of quarters (they cost $500), it helps if you have a business-(some banks require that) and if they don't have a box they can sell you, ask if you could order one. The quarters I buy go right back into circulation pretty much the same week I get them ( I sell them to the local grocery store and the rest go into the coin counter at another bank) so It doesn't really cost me anything!
Happy hunting @Joe_360 ...you've got a good system going too!!!!

@Onastone, yes I once was buying $8000 in quarter boxes before the shortage, those days are gone. Having my supply helps me exchange, which all will do. Good luck on number 5 release forthcoming... Joe

That's 6 boxes of quarters!! All at once? How did you move them? That weighs a ton! Each box is 25 pounds. You're talking 400 lbs of coin.
I move from the bank to my car 2 at a time, the bank knows me and gave me a cart. My other hobby is weightlifting and I cant deadlift 225 pounds - I hope that you were not trying to say that I lied, because that would not be cool

Not at all, I'm just thinking how I struggle with one box!! I'm impressed with carrying two! The woman who buys change for the supermarket is glad I've been providing quarters as she says she doesn't mind not buying the quarters from the bank as they're so heavy to carry back!!!

All cool Thanks. That total was only was and it was cool people watching as I was moving so much cash.... Joe
Lot's of responses! This is what I like about this site, you don't have to be a big time collector to get respect and encouragement, but also I have lots of respect for guys like joe360 who take it downtown! I was doing 5 boxes at a time but alot of the local banks have stopped for now. I have a full box that I swap out with stores and banks for now. Gotta find the right local Bank office, or Store bookeeper.
For me I've actually done pretty well with 2019 considering my modest goal of acquiring 5 full sets; I have 2 so far.
So...another question then...anybody with similar goals interested in trades on circulated Ws? I have spares of some that I would trade to make my 5 set goal.
