Haven't seen those in a while. No definite date, but based on memory ... 1989 / 1990

Nice pickups! I have a Morgan dollar example.
I can't help out with the slabs ... but they are nice looking coins.
Then google the company... Best way to find out information...
I believe these were available in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Blanchard was not a third-party grading company. They graded and encapsulated their own coins for sale to investment clients.
Blanchard also sold silver dollar rolls (4 rows of 5 coins) encapsulated in large slabs.
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
So THEY were the first with the Plus grades!
Is there much demand for these by slab collectors? I only saw 1 on eBay
Thanks

I recall seeing a 20 coin Blanchard Morgan set at a show in Seattle years ago..... It was priced way too high, even for that time...and the assigned MS grade was questionable on several of the coins. Cheers, RickO
I went to Blanchard’s offices in Metairie in 1992 or so when I lived in New Orleans. Big corporate office with office-worker desks, I assume for tele-marketing. They were actually very friendly, showed me some Eliasberg pedigreed gold in NGC fatty.
The brochure below shows everything in PCGS and NGC, so I assume they may have been finished with self grading by 1992?
