    Monster. Congrats

This was a PSA 10 crossover. Card was already graded PSA 10, Autograph was flawless, so I paid for the Auto grade. Super pumped now, but now I'm in an emotional stalemate on whether to keep or sell. I'm a huge Red Sox fan, and a huge Mookie fan. He went to high school about an hour away from me. I actually work with a Dr. that her son went to school with Mookie. I got to meet him when he was in A ball at Greeneville, super nice guy. Even then, you could tell from the sound of the bat he was going to be special.

Congrats on the upcharge! Do you remember when your five-card regular moved out of grading? I'm waiting on a two-card regular that was entered 3/8 (ten days after yours) and went into grading on 3/9.

It went to assembly on the 13th, and QA Check 2 today with the upcharge email.

keep a tally on the number of days before it actually pops. right now guessing about 4 days and then another 3 to actually ship after that.

The express order grades popped at 145AM CST on the 14th. Shipped at 331AM CST same day.

if they didn't image it then that would explain why it got out so fast. you'll be able to find out after about a week when you check the cert number. it will pop up if so.

my up charges lately have been requiring imaging (which is a great thing for the hobby, imo) and naturally that's been backed up too. currently have one that was done back on 4/8 at premium 1 level but still hasn't shipped bc it's "stuck in imaging".

Sigh. I sent a three-card express and four-card regular order to PSA in early March. The package was delivered on March 8, and PSA acknowledged receipt on March 15...and nothing since. Frustrating. Any improvement in CTDs means nothing if logging is taking so darn long. By comparison a five-card regular submission back in January was logged 10 days after they acknowledged receipt.

So question: why not calculate CTDs starting from the date receipt is acknowledged? Hopefully the answer isn’t simply that the results would look bad.

express. arrived 3/1 @ $150 a pop. not even logged. i feel ya.
    premium 1 @ $1k a pop. arrived 4/7. popped 4/8. still not shipped.
regulars 1/27 @ $50 a pop when that was expensive. still not logged.
    etc, etc, etc.

but alot of my older bulk and economy orders are moving, so i dont know whether to be happy or pissed. its interesting to say the least.

    Just in the last hour:

    15-card CC Renewal

    arrived: 8/26/20
    logged: 9/24/20
    grading: 10/20/20
    assembly: 04/13/21
    QA check 1: 04/15/21
    QA check 2: 04/16/2021
    shipping

The sub is entirely 1978 O-Pee-Chee baseball for a registry set of mine. All of the cards (in the sub) have a population of less than 10 total graded, and some as low as only 3. I'm completely new to subbing this particular year and manufacturer, so I did this as a learning experience with low expectations. Given the difficulty of finding decent examples of this issue, I picked out examples that I thought would achieve a 7 or perhaps better.

@blurryface & @DEFPOTEC - I sent an email to customer service last week with the subject "do I have a problem order" and gave the submission number. I had a reply within a few hours and my regular order that was with 4 other orders but hadn't been logged was located and entered that same day. I know early March was when a tsunami of submissions hit so that could be part of it too, mine was received 2/24 and entered 4/7. Might be worth an email.

Just in the last 30 minutes:

    15-card CC Renewal

    arrived: 8/26/20
    logged: 9/24/20
    grading: 10/20/20
    assembly: 04/13/21
    QA check 1: 04/15/21
    QA check 2: 04/16/2021
    shipping: 04/16/2021

I am extremely pleased and relieved with these grades. I did not think any of these would grade higher than 8 (because of the centering and/or very faint PD) and they didn't, as expected.

Mixed results on my first sub that I received today in mail. Good: Barry Sanders Rookie 9, Lemieux Rookies 7 & 8. OK: Kelly and Young USFL 7's Disappointed: Yaz Rookie PSA 5. Very tough grading as many of you mentioned on 1986 Topps Traded Bonds (black borders) PSAs 8s was as high as I could get.

Wow! Grades are in; Not so Wow! PSA has definitely gotten much stricter with grades based on my recent and past experiences. I honestly feel that every one of these cards should be one grade higher including the 9s (aside from the 4 which I MUST have missed something on).

Plus, I have always found it unfair that the graders seem to grade some cards (i.e., stars, HOF'ers) tougher than others (i.e., commons, etc). I went in thinking these all had a rock solid shot at 9 (hoping for the hallowed 10) but I believed nothing would come back lower than 8. The two Garveys and several of the Bretts look just as nice as the Harrah & Grich cards. Ugh. Horrible time to submit IMO and I still have about 100 cards in the queue. :(

If anyone does not think there is a new standard they have their head in the sand. I find it very frustrating especially since we have no recourse.

    Looking for FB HOF Rookies

None of this looks like they are making any kind of dent in the giant backlog. Thus far between the price increases, backlog, no real progress and what looks to be a lot harder grading on pre Ultra Modern, I don't see one way they are preserving their perceived leadership in the industry. If the the HGA and CSG higher grades see similar premiums to PSA on sales price, there is gonna be an open door for true competition, which to be honest is needed.

just a heads up. didnt want to make a fuss or create its own thread but keep an eye out for top left corner crimps. ive had a few strange “6s” pop randomly. each that would have been totally obvious that theres no way i woulda submitted them. i also have a few subs in w/ pcs once economy was taken away. was perusing the poppage thread over there and there’s starting to be mentions of the same thing happening and ironically in the same spot as mine. could all be coincidence or could be a newb damaging while holdering. either way, all the cards are lower valued so if its the latter, at least they are happening on this card level. everyone makes mistakes.

the few i received are already off for consignment but here’s a screen shot from the other thread on what to look out for, mine looked the exact same:

    Sub that popped Friday.

    Arrived 9/14/20

Have to say overall I’m pleased with the grades. Definitely not a grader of death scenario. Someone recently said they hadn’t seen any half point grades in a while but I got one and it’s about what I expected the card to grade. Was hoping for a 9 at best so 8.5 will work. Anyway here they are

Blurry did you let PSA know, and have they responded? I would hope they would have assigned you an account manager at this point, given the amount you submit.

Perfectly stated. I love it. 💝💝but have 10 I can send in myself for dual grades. Get that sold NOW before pop increases. Which it will as I''ll be popping tons of his blacks and Heritage in now that it looks like he's staying out that way. ( was talk of a trade to bring him back to Boston after that the salary dump happened. But he nixed it and said no going back no matter the $$ offered).

2 years from now can probably pop another half price .
