Here in Dallas/Fort Worth both the Patriots and Bucs games are out of my market. So I'm watching the Patriots on a stream on a Chromebook with volume, and I have the Chiefs Broncos on TV muted.

    Good stuff!!!

I'm watching the Patriots vs 49ers game. I'm in North Carolina, so I get the Patriots game.

The Cowboys game was as ugly as I’ve ever seen a professional football game.
If this was any other year @stevek would be dancing in the streets. Just imagine the absolute thrashing dimeman would be receiving. Maybe he had a premonition and bowed off the message board on purpose.

I agree. The Cowboys looked totally disinterested. The hit on Dalton was a flat out cheap shot. THat played should miss multiple games for that hit!!!

There is a stink coming out of Dallas right now. First you have the reports of the players making comments about the coaching staff this past week, then Jerry Jones gets on the radio show and is pissed off about everything. Dallas is a mess right now.

I wonder if Jones is giving any thought about getting rid of McCarthy with his team looking this bad

They brought that up on the Fox NFL pre game show today. That's what I am wondering also, surely he has to be thinking about it considering the players seem to be rebelling against the coaching staff.

    Brady and the Bucs.....

    Belichick and the Pats.....

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Belichick has to be feeling the sting of not having Brady. If I were Belichick, I would have bent over backwards to keep the GOAT on the Pats.

Brady just threw #559 and now holds the record. 4 passing/1 rushing tds today.

A lot of good memories tied up in all those touchdowns.

Cam looks lost out there. Can the Pats go with him much longer as this season slips away. Have to find out what you have in Stidham. If he's not the guy going forward, it's time to draft someone and start over.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm glad to see Brady succeeding in Tampa Bay. I knew his presence on that team would change things.

The shine is off the Apple. All the talking heads were amazed bo one wanted Cam after 1 game. That’s why they talk for a living and don’t judge personal. How friggin good could he be if 30 teams passed on him and he signed for a Happy Meal and a $50 Walmart gift card. He’s led them all the way to 2-4. @perkdog and I both predicted a 5-11 season and he’s about the biggest Patriots fan I know. Shocked me, shocked me he picked the 49ers today. I’m shocked I tell you! Did I say I was shocked?

The team watched their quarterback get destroyed by a late, dirty hit today and did nothing. The players have checked out. That means the coach has gotta go.

did anyone else watch the Browns/Bengals game?? it had a wild finish but the announcers were terrible. I understand that Joe Burrow is the new NFL "Golden Boy" since he was the first round pick, but shouldn't the announcers be objective about how they call the game and in the comparisons they make??

I didn't see any of the he live. But I just checked and you had Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta. What type of stuff were they saying?

I got bonus coverage of the Browns-Bengals after my game was over.
Was an amazing throw and catch for the game winner.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,080 ✭✭✭✭✭

DJ Metcalf is impressive. Now that's a football player.
Running the length of the field to catch a DB who picked Wilson.

it was pretty one-sided and seemed like they needed to "hype" Burrow with repeated camera shots of his family in the stands anytime he did something. the real groaner was after the game ended on a a TD from Baker Mayfield with 11 seconds left, using the last 1:06 to drive the Browns to the win after the Bengals had taken the lead with their own drive. the announcers mentioned that Burrow had a "marvelous" game and battled Mayfield down the stretch.

Mayfield went like 22 of 28 with 5-TD's and a rating around 135(started 0-5 with an int., finished 22-23 with 5-TD's).
Burrow went like 36 of 47 with over 400 yard and a rating around 110.

I just like a balanced accounting of the game, you can get a "homer-version" if you listen to the Team radio announcers, I didn't expect it with a Broadcast game but seeing the names of the two in the booth I guess I should understand.

    .

he essentially scored four points with that sprint which was remarkable, he passed other players like they were standing still!!

And Arizona failed on 4th down so it was a 7 point play. That’s hustle.

Let’s visit my NFL futures wagers after Week 7. For those not familiar with future wagers predicted win totals for each team are posted preseason. You wager over or under that predicted total. I drive 1 1/2 hours to Hot Springs, Arkansas for a little R@R with the wife. Here are my picks and I posted them preseason. You can find them somewhere:
    New England Under 9.5 $100
    SF under 10.5 $100
    Dallas under 10 $100
    Cincinnati under 5.5 $100
    Jets under 7 $100

NE 2-4. They must go 8-2 for me to lose
    Outlook: Excellent
SF. 4-3 The must go 7-2. Tough division
    Outlook: Very good
Dallas 2-4 The must go 9-1
Outlook: Can I cash it now?
Cincinnati 1-4-1. They must go 5-5
    Outlook: Excellent
Jets 0-7 The must go 8-1
Outlook: Can I cash it with the Cowboys
    Ticket now.
I’ve never gone 5-0 in my futures. Best was 2 years ago 3-2. Last year 1-2 but I picked the Bills to win the division at 15-1.

Looks like my wife will have a very happy mini vacation in April what the horses start their season at Oakland. Nothing is set in stone but I like it! I like it a lot.

my boy Kyler Murray letting Russell Wilson know last night that there is a growing incarnation of him

    (scintillating game by the way)

Watching that game last night, one thing I commented on during the game was Seattle's lack of involvement of Metcalf in the game plan. They threw Lockett's way the vast majority of the time....can't argue with the results either. but when you have a player of his caliber, he should get more looks.

My cats are now losing to the Falcons 16-14. I am disgusted. Ok, it's time to call it a night. It's been a long day at work. Or has it been a long day at home? I'll never reveal the answer to that question!
