Gonna miss those matter of fact comments. Very outspoken and knowledgeable . Makes me want to break out in song: You Deserve a Break Today, So Get Up and Get Away........

Nicely done. Welcome. Put your big boy or big girl pants on and pull up a seat

Thank you. I'm dressed now. Seriously I hate to see longtime members leave. Hopefully he will return after a short respite and continue to contribute.

The OP is spirited, a straight shooter, opinionated, and he'll tell you what he thinks. He has some knowledge and experience, too. I hope he will return tan and well-rested. He livens up the place.

That's a tepid endorsement. Even the people buying coins off of HSN have some knowledge and experience. :D

I meant it very sincerely!! LOL

Obviously, some posters don’t like the initiation of such threads or the style of the OP. I think he contributes considerably to the forum on a wide range of topics.

He is articulate in his posts, and never gets emotional or angry. I like his contributions to these forums. I hope he returns sooner, rather than later.

I wish him luck, and hope he is not dealing with any serious issues.

these kind of threads used to be common 15 years ago and I formed an opinion about the members who initiated them. you probably don't want to hear it. B)

Well glad it’s a hobby for me. Good luck, if it’s not fun a time-out is needed. Lucky for me I have 3 other hobbies I rotate through.

selling a lot and working over 40 hours a week takes a toll on me too, but i never spent much time on here

At least he said "Time for a break". Which is understandable, and polite of him to let us know. At least we know he didn't die.

I vaguely remember past dramatic "good byes" from others who were crying the blues about the way they, or others, had been treated.

Just about all eventually came back, even though some threatened to never return to the forums.

Nobody can stay away from here long. At least voluntarily anyways. They usually have to be banned to be gone forever.

I know I would go nuts if I couldn't log on here many times every day.

I never need a break from here. Where else are you going to find an assemblage of like minded coin collectors like we have here?

I love coins, and I love these forums! I will never say goodbye.

Logged in as of 15min ago. Longest goodbye ever.

He hasn’t posted, has he? If not, I think that qualifies. It sounds like you miss him badly.

The attention seeking through arguing was too much for me. I’ll enjoy his absence while it lasts. Ebays bound to make some minuscule change that’ll bring him roaring back next week.

If anyone wants to reach me, you can reach me at my business email: unpub@aol.com

If I log in here to read PMs, some of our adoring and adorable forum members think I'm lurking.

Just need a break. That's all I said. That's all I meant. Not sure why some of you apparently have chosen to read more into it. I didn't criticize anyone or call anyone out. I didn't complain about anything that happened here. I just need a break. I didn't say it was forever. I didn't leave in a huff. I didn't bother to explain because I thought none was needed. I just wanted to say "goodbye" to the few people who might care that I'm not around.

I've spent most of the summer dealing with my best friend's widow and trying to sell off his estate. It has been emotionally exhausting. He was a member here. He's the one who really got me back into coins in a big way. Every auction, every price move in PMs makes me think of him. His widow contacts me every day, mostly for emotional support and a connection to him. I just needed a break.

The forum can be very addicting and it is better to make a clean break. When and if I return, I'll remember not to say "hello again" cuz apparently "hello" and "goodbye" are bad etiquette. Well, at least when some of us do it.

    In case anyone missed it.

I just don't understand the special announcement. There are plenty of posters here that have taken breaks over the years. Few of them see the need to start threads about it. Every time you receive a PM, and you can configure the settings to receive an email. If anyone needs to reach him, they can PM him. There is no need for pomp and pageantry.

But you skipped the “hello again” part! Neil Diamond deserves some credit.

    “Hello, again, hello
    Just called to say hello
I couldn't sleep at all tonight
    And I know it's late
    I couldn't wait
    Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
    When I'm here alone
    And you're there at home
    Hello
    Maybe it's been crazy
    And maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been through it all and you love me just the same
    And when your not there
    I just need to hear
    Hello, my friend, hello
It's good to need you so
It's good to love you like I do
And I feel this way when I hear you say
    Hello
    Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
    And I know it's late but I could't wait
    Hello”
