Time for a break.

edited to add:

If anyone wants to reach me, you can reach me at my business email: unpub@aol.com

If I log in here to read PMs, some of our adoring and adorable forum members think I'm lurking.

Just need a break. That's all I said. That's all I meant. Not sure why some of you apparently have chosen to read more into it. I didn't criticize anyone or call anyone out. I didn't complain about anything that happened here. I just need a break. I didn't say it was forever. I didn't leave in a huff. I didn't bother to explain because I thought none was needed. I just wanted to say "goodbye" to the few people who might care that I'm not around.

I've spent most of the summer dealing with my best friend's widow and trying to sell off his estate. It has been emotionally exhausting. He was a member here. He's the one who really got me back into coins in a big way. Every auction, every price move in PMs makes me think of him. His widow contacts me every day, mostly for emotional support and a connection to him. I just needed a break.

The forum can be very addicting and it is better to make a clean break. When and if I return, I'll remember not to say "hello again" cuz apparently "hello" and "goodbye" are bad etiquette. Well, at least when some of us do it.

What happened that caused you to take a break?

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

The ones creating an exit thread never really do leave.

Yes but it gets a little more attention and adds a twist of fun more than our normal "Please Delete" or "Nevermind" threads. :)

When you leave for a break it’s important to let people know you’re leaving for a break. Otherwise people might not realize you left. Or you may miss the chance for others to ask why you’re leaving. Or you may believe your input is so valuable that a notification is necessary to ensure others aren’t left wandering in the woods during your absence. Or you may lean toward dramatic entries and exits, which of course is fine, too, to each his own. Or you might just be sending out a feeler to check the general tone of replies about your impending exit...and perhaps you’d really rather stay with adequate encouragement. Or you might be passive aggressive. Or just an incurable, obsessive devil’s advocate. In any case, it’s one way to do it. It has been done before by other forumites and it will be done again. So, in short, God speed and good luck to you, Sir. 🤠😇

Just wanted to see this again. 😂😂

For what it is worth, he is a professor of chemistry at a university in the north east...verified. He is however the reason for my tag line way back in February.

Obviously, some posters don’t like the initiation of such threads or the style of the OP. I think he contributes considerably to the forum on a wide range of topics.

    I concur.
I also agree your five or six 'exit threads' were much less juvenile Mark.

Thankful for my bump-ins with @jmlanzaf , although very aggravating, very educational.

He is crusty as all get out and likely argues with the reflection in the mirror just because...but he is a wealth of knowledge like a less jovial coin cliff clavin

How to price toned coins? CAC vs non CAC

I just read this thread, some real vitriol, wow, some of the usual suspects knawing on each other. Folks, really? It is ok to be debating these issues, but when it becomes personal between 2 folks here (for many threads it seems), then things like this happen. Please chill and debate the issues not the person, as I want y'all to stick around and enjoy so I can learn.
