Yes, another NGC acquisition! Lol. This was a steal. Check out what an Heritage auction went for. For this same proof coin one grade under mine. In a PCGS Pf. 67 DCAM, $450.

Do NGC coins sell for the same money as PCGS?
If you bought from a dealer I assume they can read so I am just trying to figure out the background.

Proof examples aren’t designated Full Steps.
A PCGS example brought $12.90 on EBay recently:

That's cool

The last three examples that sold on EBay brought in the $13 range. I don’t understand why $10 is considered a “steal”. Please post a link to the $450 coin? I couldn’t locate it when I looked. Thanks.

I don't see any that sold for $450, either.

Happy Belated Birthday 😅
I don't know about you, but I'd love to get a 23% discount on any coin I bought...
If you paid $10 you paid about $9.95 too much by my way of thinking.
Maybe all he did was establish that everyone else paid 30% too much.

If a PCGS PR67 DCAM sells for $450 and an NGC PR68 UCAM sells for $13 then there must be a hell of disparity in grading between the two grading services.
I'm sorry, guy's. I must of been checking the 1969s PF. RPM DCAM PCGS? That's where I found $450 for the PF.DCAM 67
Here is my MM.and Full Steps?

The bottom line is you got a decent deal.

PCGS 68 DCAM’s have sold in the $13 range - I provided a link to one of them in an earlier post. So you can probably forget about the grading disparity.

Full Steps don’t count on proofs as MFeld mentioned.
So I was off a mere 90%. Lol. Sorry

Other NGC Pf68 Ultra Cameos avg around $24 on Heritage. So, while not a huge deal, it was still a good buy.
@chesterb
I don't know if you know this, but Heritage lists prices paid by the winner (i.e. that includes the vig').
Also, last I checked, Heritage has a minimum vig' of $19. per lot.
Soooo ... that $24. price history ... $5. coin, $19. dollar fee.
Not that I think Joey overpaid (necessarily), but I don't think he got all that great of a deal either.

Nice!
but I don't think he got all that great of a deal either.
I admit, if I knew the figure I first came up with wasn't the actual value. I would not of purchased the coin. I truly thought I was getting a deal of a lifetime? Well, almost. Lol. Thanks guy's for all that great info. But, as posted by some, I still salvaged somewhat of a deal. Just not as huge as first thought. Example: So instead of

"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. When I factor in a purchase from Heritage, I factor the cost of buyers fee too which is what that $24 includes. I inconveniently forget the shipping costs and sales taxes (for my state). When it's all said and done they probably paid much more than that $24. It's a common date proof nickel so it's not going to break the bank either way. I'm just pointing out the total costs of acquisition for comparison sake.
You're right again Mr. Feld. The proof Jefferson nickel's do not have the full step designation on the slabs.
Well done
As everyone else has mentioned, proofs not designated as full steps, secondly, any modern pr 69 unless a variety, is worth little to nothing, and i sell crap like this in the shop for 2-3 bucks at most
I know not everyone is a fan of the Jefferson nickel, but for those who are, this is a nice example. The price paid was fair.
I see steps without my loupe.
Serious offer. If you are selling modern proofs in Proof 68 Ultra Cameo for $2 to $3 each, I will buy a bunch from you. They don't even have to be Jefferson Nickels. I will take cents, dimes, quarters, halves. I have a large orange Home Depot bucket that you can fill to the top. I will buy them all. Interested? PM me.
Thanks Sir, for chiming in.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.He didn't say they'd be slabbed. Any dealer would be overjoyed to sell you proof coins at that price. That's $10 - $15 a set for coins from the late 60s/early 70s, and they'll throw in a free mint case.
@joeykoins .... Well... not every coin buy is a major treasure, but you were excited and it is not a bad coin.... No major loss at all. Enjoy the coin. Good picture of the steps, and that little tick mark stands out. Cheers, RickO
@JoeyCoins just think if you had consolidated the money you’ve spent in the last few months on a variety of low value/hard to unload coins (plus slabbing fees) and bought one high quality coin, you’d be on your way to building a nice collection IMHO.
Of course, we all collect differently and there isn’t a “right” way, but I think in time you may look back and think a little more self discipline would bring more long term satisfaction.
