I am 66 years old. But I look 46 because of good genes and also because I've been pickled for the last 20 years. Or more. Actually a lot more than I care to admit too.

Interestingly, I joined this forum at the first year mark of my age group, and now I’m only a year away from the last year mark in the group.
Seeing stuff like this in print pi*ses me off. :s

You chose the right one, as the higher bracket should have began with 61.

What do you think? I’m old as dirt! I try everything I can not to become a grumpy old man. So far so good😊

Late 30s this year. The 80s and 90s were an awesome time. I'm happy to have lived my childhood largely in a pre-Internet era.

9/11, 2008, and this all in one lifetime, bailing out corporations three times in my life while paying student loans has put a damper on my collecting.

But I guess I did the right things with my business because I have more gold and silver than I ever dreamed, living at home sequestered eating gourmet chocolates and expensive tea in designer pajamas, while people are fighting for 99 cent boxes of pasta and downloading auto dialers for unemployment.

I see news articles about people having to resort to food shelves for the first time in 50 years. Must be nice having lived such a privileged life.

At work tonight I was referred to by one of the new young guys (30yrs. old) as an “ old timer. ”
I’m thinking it’s about time to retire.

It's always fun when one or more of your bosses are younger than some of your own offspring. The "baby boss" phenomenon. That first happened to me a while ago.

I think once or twice I've been treated by a doctor younger than myself, but at least the doctors are still older than my kids. For now.

Well... I am in the top group....or is that the bottom group? Just like age, it is a matter of perspective...I am very active and most do not think of me as old...shocked when they find out :D Especially those younger than me that are much less active. At work a few weeks ago, a shooter dropped his magazine... I bent over from a standing position and picked it up...He said when you get old you won't be able to do that... I asked how old he was... he was seven years younger than me... :D Cheers, RickO

The coffee mug I currently use at work is one I got at a conference in 1991 and has the date printed on it. That mug is older than 5-6 engineers in my department.

BTW: The conference was May 20-22, 1991, so Happy Birthday coffee mug :D

When my brother started teaching after college he quickly discovered one thing: it’s generally not that you feel older but everyone else gradually starts to look younger and younger. My brain keeps telling me I’m around 25 but my body keeps telling me I’m in my 40s, lol.

I’m 53 and I walk 5 miles three days a week. Only health problems are high cholesterol and I have to have arthroscopic surgery on my knee from an old sports injury. My blood pressure is perfect and I don’t have to take any medication for it. I have good genes and I am a social drinker....3 or 4 beers once a week. I don’t plan on retiring, anytime soon, as I like to stay active and make money.

When the brackets have inconsistent amount of year spans, it distorts the visual representation of the graph.

I went to my first coin show in 1965 at the age of 15 and, quite understandably, I was the youngster there. The disconcerting thing is, I go to some shows today and I STILL feel like the youngster there when I look at the even older codgers around me. Anybody else get that feeling?

Same. When I first when to a coin show in the 80s I was about 14. Most of the dealers were selling raw and a couple in particular kept telling me to "shine it up and it'll be BU". Now I'm in my 40s and when I go to a show I feel like on the younger end when I look at the cases I'm more interested in (non bulk bullion).

I wish I would have realized that earlier in life. I wouldn't have been as concerned about aging.
