Honestly, if you dont have the coin in your cart already, you have zero chance of buying it at this point.
Sounds like someone did and couldn't check out?
I was literally refreshing once per second at 7:40 with the coin in my cart. All info is pre-filled for me. I saw the coin flip and pressed the check to buy and then placed order. Nope. Gone. In under a second. That's not an exaggeration. I have no doubt that there are at least 5+ bots all trying to place the order. The coin is gone in the moment it takes me to move my mouse, press the check, and move it again to press place order. Thats <0.6 seconds. I don't know how many coins are left; I'd estimate <15.
So for those that don't have a coin in their cart already, you need to press add, then go to your cart, then do all the address, then billing address, then credit card, then review, then check mark, then place order.
Yea good luck with that.
Wow. Thanks for the note. Bots are just killing it for the collectors. Wonder when it will change to sold out.
I don't think you can conclude that there are bots involved. There might well be 100 humans with a coin in cart who all hit buy at the same time and were all competed for 1 or 2 coins released. The fact that sj5150 didn't get one doesn't mean someone was faster, it just means that there were 100 people chasing the same coin.
There. Are. Bots. Involved.
I know for a fact.
There may be BOTS involved but they may not have all the advantages that you think - we know for a fact that several members on this board, including myself, did get an AGE v75 after initial launch date and we are REAL: PEOPLE and not BOTS

It never used to just appear for a second or two. Even when there were only 1 or 2 available, it usually last 20 or 30 seconds or so
Then why the morning hiccups? It’s either available or it is not? If the presiding opinion is that it doesn’t come available unless there IS inventory, then that means at least one coin has been available every morning since Nov 5th. Is my logic valid?

Hey guys, I’m a new member to the forum. Just thought I had to join to share about my success. I have been collecting coins for several years. I have been trying for the V75 coins since opening day. I was able to snag a silver last Saturday and this morning I was finally able to get the V75 gold at 6:40 AM. No bots involved. Just had to share as I was so proud from how hard I’ve been trying to get one.

I'm assuming u had it in the cart already?
Also, assuming 07:40 Eastern time?
Thanks Raufus! Yes I was first able to put it in my cart the day after opening sales and I have been trying every morning since. It was 7:40 eastern time. I was so used to 7:30 ET with past coins. The random time changes have really been irritating. But such a relief to finally get it! Makes all the mornings worth it!

I don't know. That's how it should work. But if they are uploading a new inventory file, it is at least possible that as the update is happening, it turns on all the buttons because the inventory doesn't read zero for a split second as it uploads. Impossible to say without knowing the exact architecture of the system. And I'm not saying they should want it to work that way. But it COULD.
In past years, even with only 1 or 2 available, the "add to bag" would be there for multiple seconds. It takes time, even if you have one in the cart, to click through and get confirmation.
It was also not common even for less scarce issues (50,000 or 10,000 not 2,000) for 1 or 2 to be available every bloody day.
That has not been the case this year. So, it is just wild speculation on my part. But it makes sense, if you consider the dynamic of availability.
On day 1, they went unavailable when 1945 orders were processed.
During day 1, some percentage of those orders were found to have issues and canceled. Let's say that was 100 coins (5%). [It was probably less, but I want to be generous.]
On day 2, those 100 coins were now available. Some percentage of those orders were found to have issues and canceled. Lets say 5 (still 5%). Maybe there's a couple from the original lot that were being investigated and bounced late.
On day 3, those 7 coins were made available. How many would have issues? One?
Every day, you should be looking at a percentage of a percentage so the number should be decreasing.
Eventually, some packages get bounced back due to faulty addresses. Sometimes there are returns due to damage, etc. But you don't get those EVERY DAY. In fact, after day 3, you wouldn't expect to get any for several days. And the Mint is notoriously slow in even marking receipt of returns, so those generally don't become immediately available. Those are usually the ones that pop up weeks later.
The fact that the button flashes every day after 2 weeks just makes me wonder if that isn't more of a system glitch than actual availability.

Sure does. Incredible score. Sounds like there was a second or so window and u hit it right.
Even if one gets the minute right the luck part seems to be when one refreshes. If one is in the middle of a refresh the instant it comes up by the next refresh opportunity it could be gone.

If there is one available and say 1000 folks are refreshing and 100 see it pop, then only one person snags the coin, you can see the odds. (I’ve assumed those numbers). That said, if you score at this point, you literally won the lottery!

If you really got the coin then congrats, I cannot see how you did it without a bot, Its literally there for 1 second i already have it in the bag since nov 5th, there just isnt any amount of time to hit check and place order button for a human. Theres just too many products CU at the same time, I dont recall ever this many CU products its just such a mess for the true collectors, Have a great weekend everyone i will not be trying on the weekends,Hopefully im not making a mistake

Thanks Dave_01! It was just pure luck. I have been on the same side as you every morning since it released. I’ve hit place order who knows how many times on it. Today was just the lucky day it finally went through! Must have nailed the exact time down to the second. I got the confirmation email on it shortly after.

Hey guys, FNG here. I joined up to pick peoples heads and maybe have some resources going forward for collecting. I recently got my hands on the ASE 75th and it arrived on Monday. It's been sitting on my counter still sealed in its original box and I've been wondering if I should get it graded or not. I've read/heard people to open/not open it and to grade/not grade it. What are your guys opinion regarding this, and what company should I use if I choose to grade it? I know that PCGS and NGC are the most popular to send to, but is their really a difference?
I say yes grading pcgs. I went for first strike designation now they also have a cool ultraviolet label as well as a ww2 75th label. If you are gonna try to collect the series or sell it, the pcgs holder will not hurt it. Unless it grades out low. If the ERP is an example, pf69 sells for a little less than unopened box and obvious less than a pf 70. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison because the ERP had a Cert and some were signed so the unopened box allows for the mystery of grade and possibility of low COA and sig.

The answer is... It depends. For grading I prefer PCGS but I have never submitted to NGC. I have many mint coins in original mint packaging and that is where they remain. These, I will send in to PCGS because I want the AGE graded. If I only had scored an ASE I would most likely keep in mint packaging. Figure that you will spend more on grading fees than you spent on the coin itself.
As far as to open or not to open, that is the "First Strike" game. To be eligible for the First Strike label (an extra $18 fee) you need to submit the coin before a certain date (Dec. 7 I believe). If you want the FS label after that date the original mint box has to be sealed and postmarked before the cutoff date.

Thanks! Perhaps the icing on the cake is the fact that I saved $50 from gold price dropping by not being able to place my order until today from the people that were able to buy it on opening day.

Just curious, did it go live exactly at 07:40 or did you refresh a couple times at 07:40 and then see it?
There is clearly hope for the other collectors who have been thus far shut out!!! :-)

Man did you hit it just right by the second. The changing times make it all the more crazy for those still trying.

Absolutely awesome. Congrats.
Fantastic 1911.
Funny, I was going to pose my coins w a WW II 1911 also but wasn't sure how that would be taken. I'm glad u did.
Love the pic.
I enjoy these, and most moderns, so much more in the OGP.
Congrats @Dirt94 This makes me happy that someone here scored!! I've been lucky enough to get an AGE75 in my bag twice! Right now it's empty though ...my odds of getting one now are equal to the chance of actually seeing the red flashing ADD TO BAG. And it only flashes once.

Both PCGS and NGC noted the 1945 mintage on the label. I wonder why the Mint didn't note that on the COAs.
I was just looking at the COA and was surprised there was no mention of the mintage.
Indeed. Incredible that this was left out.
When did u get your AGE order in?
Unrelated, but was thinking that in the current situation while bots may be an advantage w the variable times (can't bots check constantly, indefinitely?) I wouldn't think that bots could refresh any faster than a person at the start of the correct minute. Lucking out and refreshing at exactly the right second seems key.

There may be BOTS involved but they may not have all the advantages that you think - we know for a fact that several members on this board, including myself, did get an AGE v75 after initial launch date and we are REAL: PEOPLE and not BOTS
.... and THAT is why some of us keep hitting refresh every morning
No...it doesn't just flip to available during a catalog update, unless there is actual product available.
My first-hand experience during past products reinforce this.
Hmmm...how do we know you guys are not bots? I think we better give you the test:
I would agree about past experience. Except the system hasn't been behaving similarly since the new...er...upgrades?
It never used to just appear for a second or two. Even when there were only 1 or 2 available, it usually last 20 or 30 seconds or so
righton - keep in mind, they may v well be changing how they do much of this, so expect the unexpected 😄
Same here. I will forever be thankful that I was fortunate enough to get one.
Wow!!!! Welcome. Incredible. Congrats. Talk about a grand entrance.

Congrats! Very nice!
Good deal - a happy day for Dirt94..........this is a rare one......one that I think will not be eclipsed any time soon
The Gold V75 that is
Apparently Dirty94 got 1 today so must be a couple available.
Sure does. Incredible score. Sounds like there was a second or so window and u hit it right.
Even if one gets the minute right the luck part seems to be when one refreshes. If one is in the middle of a refresh the instant it comes up by the next refresh opportunity it could be gone.
Really lucky and amazing score.
if we believe that to be true, yes
Yet we see that dirt94 got one today. We should thus assume that these are real inventory.
My v75 ASE is out for delivery, 15 days after I ordered it:
I wouldn’t mind not getting one if they used a lottery and I knew I had an even chance and then over and done with.

Also FYI everyone.....not Joe Dirt! 🤣 Just a regular guy haha
Actually, that neither proves nor disproves the general point.
The system is not acting like it used to.
Mr. Dirt- just glad when a collector wins the day. Hella of a Friday for you bro!

Hey Joe Dirt, way to hang in there!
