I keep asking myself, why do I get one of these these commemoratives every year?
Letter to the US Mint:
Well I told you once and I told you twice
But ya never listen to my advice
You don't try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy
Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time I don't know
Oh no
Both the half and dollar version are overpriced, even by most world mint standards that produce colorized versions of their coins. I'm good for one of the dollar coins....maybe or maybe not. "I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not so sure."

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Has any one heard what PCGS is doing with the COA's for the colorized coins. Will they be encapsulated like they did for the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof.
Does anyone have an article or video on how the Mint actually puts color on these? Is it baked on enamel, or ceramic paint?
Will it fall off, or come off with acetone or something? Regardless I got a couple, if nothing else, just to see what they look like in hand.
Maybe someone will find wrong color location error? That might make them more interesting.

Coinworld had an article, but it did not explain the process. On a majority of colorized coins ... the process is by print. Just like a newspaper, but a lot more complex. I suspect it's similar to what the Perth Mint does.
Thanks. Very interesting video below in that link. Like you said, it is very complex, so I guess they do need to be a bit pricy to help pay for the expensive high tech machinery and extra handling involved. You may want to turn the volume down before watching if you click on this less than 2 minute video showing the process below:

The initial contract ends at fiscal year end September 30, 2020. The potential value of the initial contract was $699,200.00...
@OPA - thanks for that video link. Fascinating. And such a beautiful coin ! Multiple colors a little like silk screening but with out the screen. Very cool.
And to clarify, the Mint does not do the colorizing. It's contracted out.

I saw the 2015 in my search but it didn't grab me like the one featured above.
I am guessing? the 2014 was the first of a mythical creature annual 5 ounce series, or at least first of those 5 ounce versions in color. There are currently 2 of these for sale eBay Australia (where the Perth Mint is located). I have been lucky and have been able to visit it several times, as it was right by my hotel visiting mines near there.
Asking on eBay $999 Aussie dollars, or about $734 USD. Probably would take less? It looks like these newer ones are about $500. But they are a great conversation piece and seem to be well done.

I did like Duncan's Spurs team somewhat but not even close to being the same. Now, I couldn't care less if the league ceased to exist. Been moving in the same direction with the NFL and stopped watching MLB about 15 years ago.
I have not seen any plans by either major TPG to encapsulate them.

I'm sure our host will be doing the same.
Despite that it clearly states with both of the colorized coins that some of the certificates will be signed I think somehow it was missed by the TP g's and now they are just catching up.
It was missed by myself as well I had no idea any of them were signed until I opened it and saw that it was signed and started trying to figure out what the story was.
I wonder how many were signs. I would assume a very very small percentage of the mintage.
The dollar and gold curved basketball coins do not fit in the nice orange box partially made for these basketball commemoratives.
If a new box could be made with about 15 ? slots, instead of 20, it might be able to hold the thicker baseball and basketball coins or whatever version is next. I would be happier if this was the last of the curved coin concept for a long time.

Short of sandpaper and acetone, you may never be able to get that stain off.

Did any of you all get one with a hand signed COA?
I don't see where our host or the folks across the street are encapsulating the certificates yet some are hand signed.
@Raufus, @OPA got #233 in other post. Neither of mine had one.
