Maybe Daqing Bank, predecessor to the Bank of China? But, others, please help!

Here by the way are the characters in text that you can copy and use in a search: 大清庫銀

The bar weighs 1100 grams & the seller is asking $600 for it. Good or bad buy?

Not sure when it was made. However those Chinese calligraphy look very powerful and authentic. It shouldn't be a modern copy from China. If fake , since 1100 grams does not fit into Qing dynasty's proper weight measurement standard, someone must had a lot of practice on traditional Chinese writing. May be from a stamp engraver in Hong Kong or Taiwan?

Someone on another fourm had the seller down to $420.
Even at that the bar would need to be electronically checked for purity.

@KollectorKing: why don’t you try linking this thread to the World and Ancient coins forum. There may be a Asia expert over there who can help.

No way I'd pull the trigger on a visual only. Xrf would be somewhat assuring but even that display could be photoshopped. Peace Roy
