New coin for my Type Set I was looking for one in MS 64 but prices got way to high on me in the last 2 years so I settled on this AU coin and I love it. I liked the toning as most of these all look the same. Not everyone's cup of tea, #Ricko but it is nice having some variety in the collection.

The 2016 walking liberty gold commemmorative has been on my bucket list for quite a while since I sat out of that series when initially offered by the mint.
After the danscos of the mercury dime, SLQ and WLH were filled up, felt that the 24k gold commemmoratives sort of "completed" it and the WLH was missing in my collection.
Slabbed prices are way up there now and so got myself a raw one with OGP.
Here's a 37 brilliant proof I picked up a couple of weeks ago and haven't really shown it properly, until now. One reason is imaging these proofs behind plastic to show the colors and the brilliancy is no easy task. If you've ever tried before you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you haven't and plan on giving it a whirl, have fun with it. Anyways here's what I came up with. I put a few pics in here because this piece here is like a Chamaeleon.
Thanks for looking,
Joe

Great job with the photography! Excellent work and I know exactly what you’re talking about shooting these! Proofs are tough even outside of the plastic.
That Proof Buff is a stunner!
Excellent work!

Great looking proof Buff, Joe! Do you do anything to diffuse your lights when imaging proofs?
Nope. I use daylight bulbs and set my white balance. I’ve been photographing coins this way for years. No need to defuse. Once you get your white balance set with a (Grey Card) you can now adjust your aperture and shutter speed. I shoot in manual mode because it gives me total control over what my camera does. I get good results and it’s not as tough as it sounds. The trick is to have an (SLR) a Single Lens reflex camera box and attach it to a macro lens. This is how I shoot.
Thank you for the kind words about my imaging. It means a lot to me,
Joe

Here’s a picture of my setup. I use a copystand that has the most rigidity of any other model out there. It has a 4”column the camera can slide up and down on. This one is 5’ tall as I also photograph larger items from time to time.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on equipment and imaging, Joe. My setup is similar, and I use manual too. ( I have to as my lens is a 105mm manual Micro-Nikkor!).

Anytime my brother.
I use a SIGMA MACRO APO 180mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM AF Lens for my Nikon box. I find it as good as it gets for coin photography.

I haven't purchased anything in. very long time, however I did get a few items from Ron Landis.
I bought one silver and one copper of The 2022 Eureka Springs Art Medal. I have a 1904 $20 Liberty Head which
I sent in for him to overstrike. I had to tilt it ever so lightly to show the under type........It sure came out beautiful!
