Fun fact that I wasn't aware of about the '68-D Half:
"An interesting feature of all 1968-D halves is that numeral 8 is much bolder than the others in the date. The master hub for this coin type was dated 1964 when new, and the final numeral was ground off the hub after completion of the 1964-dated dies. The final numeral of subsequent dates than had to be engraved by hand into each year's master die, and for 1968 this was done a bit too deeply."

Enjoying this scarce, original early federal type. This coin checks the boxes for me.
Seriously nice!!! 😎
Thank you @asheland…. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I prefer coins of the early “pre-fire” mint era, some of my favorites in my holdings are lower grade, choice and scarce original coins like a chain cent, 1799 cent, ‘02 half cent, ‘99 dollar etc… the coins of the founders, I guess you could say. I’m a history buff, and the history draws me in. This dime is right in line, and was an obvious pick up. Thanks again.
I like that a lot, and that’s a very cool way to look at things!
You would probably appreciate my quarter:
Time for a notoriously difficult issue to find even modestly well struck, that being the 1935 Liberty Walking Half Dollar as struck in Denver (well half-heartedly struck):
God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️
Very interesting. Are you trying to collect an entire set? What year(s) were they issued. Is there a list somewhere like Chuckee Cheese tokens? Do you have others?
This is another purchase to complete a 1936 uncirculated coin set, with only the Washington Quarter from Denver to complete the set:
The first obverse is the one with the coin, and the second obverse is what is currently on the website for NGC. In as much as I purchased this from a highly reputable seller and for a better price than the lower grade, I am chalking this up to an interesting side story. This is the only MS67 Winged Liberty Dime that I own, so whatever the real grade, it is the top pop grade wise for my set. The set lacks only three more to be complete for 1934-1945 with the micro S. Sadly, the 1945(P) is not with the FB designation.

No, I'm not trying to do the complete set.
That would be 60 total, I now have 9, and that number fill the page.
PS I really like your So Called Dollar
This has been a busy and productive week, finding several issues for my 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1942 uncirculated coin sets (and a few more in the time period). This evening's purchase at my local coin shop is a first for me, a genuine silver dollar, this one from the Peace design and part of the issues in 1935:

Having purchased more than 650 NGC graded coins over the years, I have seen a few mistakes to be sure. As part of my purchase process, I took a look to validate the graded coin on the NGC website and discovered this. Before purchasing the coin I spoke with and corresponded with the dealer back east. Their suggestion was "Looks like you discovered something that we had not noticed. The coin is indeed in an MS67+FB holder (image attached). It is definitely the same coin, right down to the tiny spots on the lower obverse. It would seem that someone sent it back to NGC (likely to get the NGC guarantee $), NGC put in the new grade holder, but then did not update their website. We completely understand if you would like to cancel this sale, but please let me know either way. " Given that the 67+ is valued at $1,700 and the 68 is valued at $6,500, there is a price differential to be sure. I have no clear explanation of my own as to how this happened. When you go to the verification page the textual description is "MS67 + FB." It was sold on that basis for less than the first price above.

It compliments the type 2 that I have nicely.
