Backfilling the die states for the die varieties (got nearly all of them) for Bust dollars. This one is Die State I/II for 1800 BB-186 (B-4). It is a small step away from the prime Die State I, with just a very weak crack from the denticles along the left side of the 1 in the date. (The reverse break was inherited from a previous die pairing.)
Just won this at Heritage. Just like HK-398, I LOVE HK-426...
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
1798 BB-125 (B-8) is not a great rarity as a die pair. But in prime Die State I, it is extremely rare. I know of only two examples and this this the finer of the two (other is PCGS VF Details). Nearly all seen exhibit weakness on the upper left obverse stars and UNITED and often have a prominent radial break through the C of AMERICA.
This is at the other end of the die states, my terminal Die State V+, which is actually relatively rare, but not as rare as the new Die State I acquisition. However, the market is probably not mature enough to appreciate it per valuation unless there are two or more determined specialists chasing it.
Another Commemorative even though I keep saying no more... but with a mintage of only 10k and signed by the artist So my promise went out the window again... All else aside one of the nicest coins i've seen in years.

That's NOT a coin. It's a very attractive medal though.

Picked up yesterday (Friday) at the Michigan State fall show.
Traded 3 type-3 $20's:
1904 ms62, 1895-S and 1897-S ms61
over 2 transactions for these two.
Two dates I wanted.
1876 Ms61
1907 Ms64
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
Just a matter of hours now. Stress levels are rising. Finding that crusty 55/54 on eBay last night gave me some wonderful relief from the stress, but now it's back.
I made it through this day relatively stress-free. Tomorrow, I may sacrifice the neighbor's dog to please the One-day delivery gods and then anxiously wait.
This isn't real. This isn't normal for me. This is Hemingway's "Old man and the Sea." This is reckless and fun. But the wait is excruciating. Every time the dogs start barking, I check the roadway. Usually, it's at damn neighbor's dog or a squirrel on the porch.
This is funny, kinda. I had to go to the doctor to get a flu shot and a referral on Tuesday in the middle of this wait for MR BIG to arrive. They took my blood pressure, and it was by far the highest it's ever been measured for me. I told them I might burst the cuff on that thing before they took it. It hurt. A warning.
Boom! It's over! All the stress of arranging funds and tracking it for three days is over. It's now just like any other coin that happens to be sitting on my desk

Kennedys are my quest...
Picked this up from Executive Coin here in Ohio during my travels.
Adding the nice bag that was given as a souvenir to carry my loot out of the office.
Part of my 1806 Mint Set, which in turn is part of my US Type Set:

For my type set
1861 is replacing 1862 for my type set. A bit harder to find and only 11 higher.
Hey Todd, why are your coins so new and so small???????
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
Picked this on at the Nashville show last month
I like the clashed die on the reverse.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.

The fighting is over, the dead have been buried. Just one more day until...
IT ARRIVES.
Just a matter of hours now. Stress levels are rising. Finding that crusty 55/54 on eBay last night gave me some wonderful relief from the stress, but now it's back.
Look at these mirrors from the 1950s.
"One-day delivery" will now take three days. sigh
I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving.
I'll be twitching my legs non-stop all day, checking USPS tracking.
A recent modern pickup.
Slowly filling my 2nd set of silvers.

Picked this beauty up last week.
Any thoughts on the color? I'm thinking red-brown.
Reverse.
Same coin. My image and TV.

OMG! Tracking tells me it's "OUT FOR DELIVERY!" This may actually happen. Minutes become hours now.
I cannot say what it is yet as that might jinx the Post Office. More prayers to the Postal Gods!
Aaaaaah!
The dogs are barking again! For the 30th time this morning.
Going silent.
A couple adds to the boxes of 20 program.
The anxiety is over. MR BIG finally arrived after spending Thanksgiving in some mailroom somewhere. I like MR BIG. A lot.
That is a huge purchase, congrats!

Nice find and pick-up
