Coin one looks as though it may have some PL characteristics, but I like the overall look of coin two more.

Coin 2. I’m guessing they’re both the same grade. Coin 2 has cleaner surfaces based solely off of trueviews

I'm going to assume there's no variety in play and say I like everything about coin 2 better than I do about coin 1. Strike is about the same, but luster, surfaces, and eye appeal look better on coin 2.

Coin number two looks cleaner and also has a nice golden glow about it. I.e. I like the color/tone better.

The spots on #1 would bother me, so #2 it is.

My initial thought was neither. Since that is not an option, I like the look of coin #2 better as it looks cleaner to me.

I'll take it further and guess that coin 1 stickered and coin 2 didn't. >:)

Not crazy about either but number two is cleaner especially the face. I prefer the color of the first coin but would go with the second anyway.

Number 1 has spots on the obverse and the less clean fields, so I chose 2. Overall 2 looks like a much cleaner coin.

    2 looks cleaner.
1 has that annoying spot I could never live with.

I prefer number two.... it has that fresh, clean look and does not have the hit on the cheek. Cheers, RickO

That too. It was actually.the first thing I noticed. I noticed the spots second and then the fields on the reverese third.

Most everyone will choose coin 2. The images are probably not fair/comparable.

Both look high AU. My guess is coin 1 was graded slightly higher.

I picked Coin 2 as well....

But I think part of that might just be it being a better picture. Coin 1 has quite a few dark "shadows", or cold spots. Shot differently, it could change my mind....

The photo of coin 2 looks better ... but it just may be the lighting and exposure.

I'll add a few comments here and post my pictures of coin 2, which @TomB is also semi prooflike! Coin 1 was photographed within the last month or 2. Just ggoin by the Cert # coin 2 was probably photographed around 10 years ago. Here are my pictures of coin 2:

They both seem to be AU58. Does coin 1 grade higher? I don't like the "dippin' dots" on the obverse of coin 1. Side by side pictures of the two taken at the same time by the same person would make the comparison more fair.

Unfortunately I don't have coin 1 which would have ended up being a plastic purchase. I had to wait almost 2 months while the owner had it trueviewed only to have him back out after he received my check! He blame his reason after profusely promising me the coin is mine on the stock market crash! He also reached out to me to sell me the coin. I paid his strong asking price!

Now here's the big question! If coin #1 received a 58+ grade(which it is), why won't PCGS give me a + on my 58 after 3 tries?
@BrettPCGS I have seen many of the 92-S's in 58 and none of them hold a candle to mine!

I would like to add my picture of the coin is adding a bit of golden color to the coin and also enhances the miniscule marks it has.

Asking the president of the company to tell you why your coin didn't get a plus based on photos seems kinda silly. I'd recommend availing yourself of PCGS's "Ask the Expert" session at a large show for additional insight. FWIW.

Both are nice coins! I chose #2 because it's lighter, less hits and the slight toning. Beautiful.

Had to blow them up to see. Door # 2 is the nicer example in my view, for many of the reasons that have been mentioned. Both are very nice though!
